thanksI'm pretty sure I just saw this Serotta - about 14.00 today, being ridden across Hackney road, from Queensbridge road into Horatio St (I think, it's not an area I know well, but from googlemaps that looks right to me). Rider was a white guy with dark hair, wearing a a flat cap - sorry, that's a pretty hopeless description, can't recall any other details - it was pretty quick and I was looking at the bike initially.
I wasn't sure until I got back to work and looked at the photo again. Sorry to not have any more details than that. -

Get those details to the Queensbridge Safer Neighbourhood Team--they might know who it is based on the description:

Bike theft is one of their current priorities, too.

It's such a limited description it seems unlikely it'd help much. I've PM'd tika about it though.

The SNTs know the usual suspects in their area. Give it a shot. Sgt Chris Scott has recovered forumengers' property before.

Will keep an eye out for the Serotta.
Don't live in Wimbledon, but hope your friend gets that sexy bike back. And pummels the scrotes who nicked it. -

This thread is always so sad. :( Thanks for the heads-up on The Beavoir Square, and hope you're doing better.
And it would be great if everyone in here posted about what lock(s) was (were) used and how, just to help others avoid this in the future.

I been around till now but no luck so far. gutted
many thanks indeed. -

1 vivalo, 1 full DA Condor road machine and a Serotta, holy shit... and sorry , really sorry that you guys lost your bikes.
Why bother buying a nice bike in London, it's so grim and depressing. can't leave them anywhere, even with 3 locks (the Condor).
Now, if i go anywhere, if i can't take my bike with me, i either A, don't go in, or B go home and come back on foot. Pretty fucking bad that is to be honest, but London bike theft is that bad.
About 1 Minute it took for someone to steal mine, whilst someone was looking after it.
What to do, what to do... Kill them all

sorry to hear, i passed that bike there yesterday. it was flipped upside down and parked on the bars and saddle just right from the door at a busy junction - didn't see a lock. when i came by 10min later, the bike had taken off as it seems.
sorry to hear this as it is a pricey loss but admittedly a rather foreseeable one.

tika, how come the culprit has been gotten hold of? can you elaborate the story?
-
• #4975
the culprit was in the job centre signing on. when he saw the bike he came out of the JC and took the bike.
the guy left with the bike and and came back later without the bike as he hadn't sign on. the security at the JC had shown mike a cctv of the event so they knew who the guy was.he was nicked but he is denying that he is the guy on the cctv. i think that they went and searched his house but the bike wasn't there, obviously...
the end...
oh and nearly forgot! Mate had his de-stickered Condor Fisso nicked a while back.
