  • hehe, sure thing, see you then

  • I'm out in Ealing too so will keep an eye out too for the next few days. Sorry about your bike man.

  • Is there anywhere else round Ealing/west london that they might try to offload that? If the thief didn't know about brick lane would they try someplace nearby like?

  • Shepherds Bush Market area?
That richo market in richpersonville.. whatsit? that one the movie was called. near Holland Park ave
    Southall market areas?
    Any pub London-wide..

  • Maybe try portobello on saturday, up the far end, sometimes sketchy shizzle turns up there..

  • FUCK I know that guy! Do you have any proof that it was him who definately stole it?

Me too, and I was with him in the pub that night. Before you have proof, take the fucking picture down. Candide - I'm pretty sure he explained the situation clearly to your housemate, who accepted it... so it seems totally unfair to post pictures of him on the internet afterwards... Why didn't your housemate call the police there and then?

  • so he had the bike without the owners persmission....therefore:

    a) he stole it
    b) he was handling stolen goods

if the answer is either a or b then he deserves to have his wannabe skinhead face put on the interweb.

  • how about
    c) he was handling stolen goods without knowing it?
Stop getting hysterical, it's not paedogeddon 2009

The bike magically ended up in his hands?

  • Hi guys - only my second post here (first about beer...), but my bike was just stolen - not a singles/fixed but its replacement will be.

    Here's a piccie

Stolen bike - 16 Feb 2009 - Bunhill Row, London on Flickr - Photo Sharing!@@AMEPARAM@@http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3370/3286601468_f600e0b0d7.jpg?v=0@@AMEPARAM@@3286601468@@AMEPARAM@@f600e0b0d7

Stolen from Bunhill Row, near Old Street. Bastards. 2nd bike taken in 3 months. Know I should have changed that white tape.

  • PS Please let me know if you see it around :) (Online or in 'real life')

Do you not think it not a touch odd that he attended the party from where my bike was stolen from? I remember speaking to him. Furthermore, it was THE only bike in the hallway that night, so he must have see it, no? Ergo, when he allegedly went down to brick lane to allegedly purchase the bike he would have recognised that it was stolen? Your argument is horribly weak.

    Many thanks. Nuff said.

Was it secured with the locks in the photograph?

I just live around the corner - will keep my eyes peeled. Sorry to hear your loss.

Apparently there are quite a lot of bike thieves operating in that area. Where exactly on bunhill row was stolen? I've known people have their bike stolen right outside the fitness first gym.

I suggest you take that picture down!

That guy is definitely not a bike thief. He was at the party and he was was seen with the bike. This much is true and the facts don't look good for him. However he didn't steal the bike as I know who he was at the party with and they can confirm this. He can give you the number of the guy who said the bike was his, as it was on loan on to my friend in the picture seeing as his personal bike was out of action.

I really strongly suggest you take take that picture down and stop the threats from everyone else as I don't want to make this into something more than it needs to be.

My only 'argument' is that it's pretty shit to put his photo on here. What are you trying to gain? It just smacks of over-excitement.
He didn't say he got it at Brick Lane, he told me earlier that day that he was borrowing it off someone, and as soon as your friend mentioned the party it clicked and he gave it straight back without question. I don't think he deserves a d-lock to the head from some rabid fgss forum users recognising him in the street.
Anyway there's only so much defending I can do only knowing the details you're giving me and what I overheard of the conversation outside the pub...

  • ^^You'll need to ask the people who have quoted it to edit their posts too.

  • it's funny, that 2 new members have joined just to defend some guy?????

  • it's funny, that 2 new members have joined just to defend some guy?????

Why is that funny? I started reading the forums a while ago but haven't felt the need to join till I saw a friend's face being paraded about and insulted. I'd like to think you'd do the same?

I think posting the photo of someone who somehow "accidentally" ended up with another person's bike, works as a deterrent to such future shenanigans.

    Yeah. I bet it clicked.

    No? Okay, that's your opinion.

If I attended a party and someone attending the same party somehow ended up with my bike, I promise you, it would get very very very very nasty.

Exceptions would be made for friends or trusted acquaintances; not strangers.

Maybe I'm just weird, that I would be angry as hell if my bike was taken by a stranger.

  • it's funny, that 2 new members have joined just to defend some guy?????

calling someone out as a thief is pretty serious really. That people are posting about putting his face on posters all over the street is just a bit OTT and immature.

I have reported the posts to the mods so hopefully the pictures will be taken down

I saw that bike yesterday locked on Bunhill row at about 12.30pm. I noticed you had a pitlock on the front wheel, and the Abus lock through the rear wheel and seatstays. I remember saying on the phone "quite a nice bianchi here with a pitlock on the front wheel". Really sorry to hear it was stolen, it looked like a good lock. Do you know what time it was stolen at?

  • I think at least posting the photo of someone who somehow "accidentally" ended up with another person's bike, works as a deterrent to such future shenanigans.

I totally agree with you, if someone stole my bike I would find out where they lived and break their legs!

He was with the bike locked up outside a pub and was very sorry that it was stolen and gave it back straight away. There was no beef and it was just a very unfortunate incident. When someone lends you a bike to borrow you don't make them fill in a 10 part questionnaire on its origins and place of purchase do you?

  • If I was at a pub with my mates bike, and somoene came up and said it was nicked and knew who's it was, and even if I didn't know where my mate had got it from I wouldn't just say sorry and give it back?!
He must surely have known it was nicked in order to be so willing to give it back?
