Hello all!
New here, my friend recommended I try posting here after my bike was stolen today, between 11 and 12:30 today from outside Unit 9 (British Barbell) Station Passage, they're arches just under Queen's Road Peckham rail station.
Unfortunately I don't have a picture of my bike, but it's a Bianchi Sprint 28c - very similar to this.
Black handlebar tape (apart from a tiny strip of blue electrical tape holding it on at the top) and black saddle, with brown brake hoods. Mostly original parts apart from the derailleur - it's a shimano 600 arabesque and doesn't match anything else on the bike. Gatorskin on the back wheel, hutchinson something or other on the front, grey and black. Black bottle cage.
This is the only material possession I've ever cried over losing, she's not much but she's my baby. I know it's a long shot, but a lifetime of love and many pints if anyone has any info that helps me get her back.

Vintage Allin fixed gear stolen
Late '60's/early '70's Allin of Croydon stolen from Petersfield in Hampshire (but could easily find it's way to London).
Has brown Reynolds 531 frame with gold lettering on cross bar and down tube. Had "A" logo on crown. 27 x 1 1/4 alloy wheels with flip flop rear hub. Distinctive hand stitched leather covers on Cinelli bars and GB stem. Old school Brooks B17 saddle on Campag allow post. Full chrome mudguards. Single Tektro brake on front wheel.
Any assistance very welcome. Small reward offered. Huge sentimental value (as with all bikes, no?) Thanks all.

Looks like the Met Police have just nicked a cpl of fellas found with a haul of 250 bikes on Chatsworth Road, Clapton.

Seems they're arranging a viewing day for the lot, def worth following up on if anyone's still chasing the return of their ride....

What brand or model? What locking method? Did they leave anything behind? Was it done with a powertool or croppers? I'm not looking to criticize I just think it helps other people choose how to protect their own bicycles in future..

Was just over the road from me. Blatant as anything. Glad they've nicked them.

Great work by the police. Targeting these high-volume thieves and stolen goods handlers will definitely make a difference.

Wow, amazing luck man. How the hell did you find it?
As has been said already, get a D-Lock.
This video shows one of those locks being snipped in a matter of seconds:

It may or may not be exactly the same lock, but it's an Abus Steel-O-Flex nonetheless.

Armoured Cable Locks: (No longer recommended at all):
](http://www.lfgss.com/thread17938.html)Everyone should take a look at that thread. Having your bike stolen is grim, and nothing makes you immune from it, but there is information here that helps your chances.
At 1.20pm today I saw a couple of lads checking out bike stands around Foley St for bikes to steal.
They were dressed in commuter type cycling gear with helmets and rucksacks and one even had a green snap-on trouser clip but both had full face balaclavas on and were riding drop bar road bikes I think.
They rode slowly past the bike stands on corner of Candover St spoke to each other then did a u turn back to the bikes.
I was riding behind them initially on a Boris bike so they were riding towards me and I said to them "I know what you're up to boys, too obvious" at which point one of them swore at me and they both turned into Candover St heading towards Mortimer St.
They had definitely gone to alot of effort to look like "cyclists" rather than dodgy kids on a mountain bike you usually see but the balaclavas kind of gave the game away.
Have reported to the local SNT
