  • Has anyone had a Look 695 with Zipp Wheels in a purple ish colour stolen from the southampton area? I spotted a shady looking guy with one which was clearly far to big for him and his belly, not sure if he just stole it as he was looking quite shady and we starred each other out as I went passed.

It looked almost identical to this one http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b344/sarpin/look_695_7.jpg

  • Anthony of Cyclehoop recently had his bike nicked? Because I saw it (or an identical one, right down to the Monkey Light on the front wheel) being ridden on Grove Lane in Camberwell just now.

Could just be more than one beige bike out there, I suppose.

    Pic. Also contains giraffes.

  • This has just gone from our shop: Belongs to a staff member, Andy

  • from inside?

    Mielec?

    CCTV?

    CCTV?

Yup, a small Mash copy with a wishbone stay. It was mine until last week, it has Mechamorgar [sic] on the bottom bracket. Andrew has put a Deda stem and anatomic drops on it, as well as Atacs and a Zoncolan.

If anyone sees it, they have my permission to lock it and batter the dickhead riding it.

should be pretty identifiable. whereabouts are we thinking?

    Just finding out now..

  • False alarm.
    Thanks.

Damn I was in tfg chatting to Andrew about this bike just last week, he was saying he was thinking of buying it. Will keep an eye out

  • Oh good. Maybe the rear mudguard was a giveaway.

  • Not stolen, more of a nice story.

If you are going to thank me for my good-deed, bacon, whisky or hookers, please.

Nice one. Consider a virtual slug of whisky heading your way. Isle of Jura ok?

  • Saw my local neighbourhood bike thief walking down the Walworth road with two gold deep section rims and red anodised hubs- anyones?

  • This seems very dodgy, a leader 725 for £400, and has a lot of other bikes under other items for sale all put up in the last 3 hours, has his name down as carl, adam and lee with the same number, all cheap and all 'must go today' with different reasons...

    Edit, forgot the link http://www.gumtree.com/p/for-sale/leader-725-track-fixed-gear-bike-56-cm-frame-excellent-high-quality-bike/1013629872

  • ^ agree. Why only one ( non drive side ) pic too? Dodgy indeed.

  • Motherfuckers stole my girl's Alan from our backyard. Please alert me if you see this being offered for sale online.

    • Alan converted sportsbike, no decals save headtube logo.
    • Chainset and gears: Campagnolo Nuovo Record
    • Brakes: Universal
    • Rims, black, have large 'GALLI' lettering on them
    • ALPS Japan handlebar with foam grips
    • Black and white Vredestein tyres
    • Brown leather ladies saddle

(I know I am in the Netherlands and most of you in the UK but since the world wide web is world wide and some of you use Marktplaats and ebay etc. to find bikes and parts I thought I'd share it here too, thanks for your attention)

  • sunn bmix stolen in london (surrey quays)

polished steel, 2 dents on down tube, small sticker on seat tube tag-bmx001
silver marzochi forks, front v brake, no back brake, shimano f519/deore hub front, shimano d5219/rudd singlespeed hub back, eclat cranks, light blue plastic pedals, flat bars with bar ends, electric tape not grips.

i will keep an eye out for the above bikes too.

  • My 11 year old daughter's 3/4 sized road bike stolen 30 March outside local Tesco's in Ham TW10. She worked with me aged 9 to rebuild this bike from end to end, naturally she is devastated at its loss. Yes it was reported to the local cops and now the Cycle Task Force.

    Detailed description:

    • Apollo steel frame (late 1980's vintage) in original blue with a few scratches - for an older child. This is not a full sized road bike, more about 3/4 size (it actually started life as a very early 24" kids MTB but with thin steel tubing so more like a road bike)

    • ITM alloy drop handlebars in an alloy 1" threaded road style stem with shiny blue bar tape. Shimano indexed road shifter/brake lever assembly.

    • Gears: Shimano Sora front and rear.

    • Wheels: 26" (559) Mavic black rims (XM317 I think) with blue anodised spoke nipples, silver spokes laced to Campagnolo alloy hubs. These wheels are very distinctive having been handbuilt by me. Tyres: narrow "Bronx" black road tyres, showing some cracking in the surface.

    • Brakes: Miche alloy dual pivot road brakes. The rear brake is mounted on a modified hanger (as described by Sheldon) to reach the rim correctly. You can see the old canti bosses just below on the rear (not yet cut off, I did the front ones.)

    • Cranks: Black SR Suntour with blue translucent plastic pedals. The bolts holding the cranks on have anodised blue washers.

    • Gear and brake cables - blue housing, again very distinctive. The cable ends are also anodised blue.

    • Saddle: Dark blue (not the one in the photo) with blue flame motif.

    • Blue anodised bottle cage.

Thanks everyone, hoping against hope here.

  • it's one thing to steal an adults bike but to steal a kids bike is beyond the pale. especially as they could potentially be stranding them miles from their house.

i hope the fuckers get everything that's coming to them and hope it finds its way back to your daughter.

  • After an amazing weekend mountain biking in wales I am sad to report that this evening my mtb bike was stolen. If you could help me by spreading awareness of this quite unique bike having been stolen I would be very grateful. It was taken from the herne hill area in London and is very different to the usual type of bike being ridden within London. It is also still splattered in welsh mud so at least I didn't clean it prior to it being pinched!, cheers.
