MikeC you didn't decide to go for the full police chase this time? I thought that you wanted to get your GTA-esque wanted level up to the requisite 5 stars? :-P
what happen when you reach five stars? they'll start bringing out their petrol Astra?

I bumped into a mate this morning who got pulled over here. they gave him a £30 on the spot fine and threatened him with three points on his license for pulling away just before the light went amber?? his argument was how not all cyclists drive cars... simple but effective.
Funny how you don't see them out there in the winter?
They told him a govt official nearly flattened a cyclist there last week and its a known blind zone so he ordered a police clamp down. to save you all.... -

Thats jolly nice of them. They weren't there this morning thankfully.

Hello. I was just curious about opinions on red lights- when i first started commuting around london a couple years ago i flat out ignored them because I was just to super-cool to follow the rules, but know i feel my relationship changing.
Now when I wait, I get reminded of that ferryman in siddhartha who just sits and listens to the river. It's great. I now look forward to red lights, and am starting to feel differently about the colour red in general. Thoughts?
Sorry i'm a little bored.

Herman Hesse at the traffic lights..... nice. I will from now on do the same. From boredom comes inspiration!

If it's quiet and safe to do so, I'd head on through.
If there's lots of peeps about I'd wait, don't want the cyclist-hating to get any worse and all that.

I've never been to a brothel to know what they are really like so personally I never stop for a red light, but each to there own. I personally don't like the idea for many reasons I won't go into here.
When I lived in West Drayton I lived in an ex-brothel though and we did have a few callers and some strange post as well with naked pictures.

I semi-stop, I reduce speed, if is safe I go if not wait.
I been stop for police twice in 5 years commuting, always got free apologising and saying sorry.
I still doing the same.
Always look for the police car, then stop -

To be honest it took a while to set up, every time we thought we had got the timer set up correctly on the camera one of the candles went out.

It's annoying when instead of looking at the traffic for potential risks you find yourself looking for cops...
Otherwise, as I read somewhere (poss here?) I say treat red lights as pedestrians treat the red man. Apart from when I feel the need to practice trackstanding, then I become very law abiding.
I haven't been stopped by the coppers (yet), what's the deal? Do they let you off with a warning or do they give you a fine? Take details?
