or you need a soothing but authoratitive voice, one that convey awe and wonder with gravitas and not hysteria

I'll speak to my agent, but generally he's more interested in the big fish on his books.

tbh i jumped the odd red light, when it's turned, or in desparate rush once in a blue moon. Saw a complete twat today, pottering through every one oblivious to other cyclists and traffic and when i told him to be careful, as it perpetuates the grief we get from taxi/bus drivers/police, and he never looked round when overtaking into traffic he got stupidly arsey. Rarely lose my temper, but severly considered wrapping my dlock into him.

^police junction watch thread? >>>>>
or i'm confused?

it is tenuously related to red light jumping and i'm posting it there too - hadn't really work up when I posted that this morning
-
• #1633
gotcha. it's very related, but this thread is mostly arguments against or in defence of RLJ. (and it's as crap as that sounds!)

I still don't understand why we need to warn other of the police presence though.
-
• #1635
Well if one safely RLJs on an occasional basis then one wouldn't want to be caught by the Po Po through sheer rotten luck

'safety rlj'.
from what?
-
• #1637
you know Ed, to avoid the dangerous vehicles that are only be found at lights.

I was hoping this would all kick off again. Thanks Ed.

Anyway does it really matter how you ride if you are not wearing a helmet? *I don't think so. *

Ever since a south african told me traffic lights were actually robots I now RLJ as a matter of course.
I saw 'I, Robot' I know how it will go down one day, safety first I say.
-
• #1641
hahaha! (I love that "robot" for lights). In France we simply call them "fire".

Fully portable, no need to go through any lights ever again. Sorted. :)

cross a ped crossing when there are no peds but I have a feeling we'll have to agree to disagree :)

Heh I know.
regarding RLJ at the Old Street area opposite LMNH, that are is pretty risky to RLJ in either way, so it's a bit of an oxymoron to says you can RLJ safety in that area.

^^ "Yar. Treffic loights are ectually roebuts."
that's pretty on the money, tho you neglected to burn down anyone's village. next time tho!
-
• #1647
Surely if you RLJ then you're going to be looking around to see what the peds are doing as well as the traffic. So this means that you should notice the plod. Or you can always htfu and ride away from them.
-
• #1648
^h = harden or hurry?!
-
• #1649
Could be either. You can't really justify complaining about being caught by the plod for doing something you know is illegal, same as speeding in a car. If you're gonna do it be prepared for the consequences

This week I have seen two different type of repeat RLJ:
Type 1
I followed this RLJ on the way home, as we stop at red light this chap gets off his bike then walks across the junction though the moving traffic to the other side gets back on his bike and cycles off, this happened at every set of traffic lights. Did his RLJ get him any further down the road than me? NoType 2
This guy thought he was a racer but did not like when anyone followed him. So to stop people following him at any crossroads with traffic lights that were red he jump on to the pavement ride across the ped crossing on to pavement then back on the road. Did his RLJ get him any further down the road than me? NoIts amazing the need to get somewhere is just so strong people that they do stupid things but most of the time it gets them no further down than me.
you need better camo and try to find out where they're filming a day ahead of schedule so you can find a good hiding spot.
