  • They sound amazing. More interested than PBP tbh.

  • Welcome aboard!

  • Fuck it. I'll join the Windsor Chester Windsor crew too.

  • Anyone doubling up on Straight Outta Hackney and Rowlands Raaamble this weekend?

I'm taking a meandering ECE to SOH if anybody is riding there and wants some bad company?

  • I'll be doing the Raaamble this weekend with some friends of friends - i'll be in the new forum jersey if the chill isnt too bad in the morning. Say hello if you spot me.

  • @umop3pisdn rode it last year and it took me till half way round to see him.

I'll be in either and old Tour of Britain KOM jersey or my ACH jersey if i can get it washed and dried in time. Green fixed with DIY saddlebag.. I'll be enjoying the scenery on Sunday!

  • And then his mojo imploded and he's not ridden more than a third of the distance since!

Was good though. Bring lots of spare tubes if it's wet.

  • Was this the ride where EVERYBODY punctured?

I vaguely remember a conversation with some guy who had punctured five times by the 150km control!

  • Debating if I'll come down to London for WCW. The dates for the PBP qualifier 600s in Scotland haven't been announced yet.

  • Looks like that Edinburgh 600k I wanted to do has been withdrawn. :(

  • That was the one I was thinking of too.

I know Lucy will be running her Borderland 600 next year from Galashiels. Not sure on date, but in the PBP quailifer window. I did this year and it was a cracking ride and not far from Edinburgh either.

  • Are those Inverness rides eligible as PBP qualifiers?

  • Sadly they're not as the 600km distance window is Saturday 4th May - Sunday 23rd June

Just after I posted my last message, the 600km from Galashiels date came through on an email. It'll be the 15th of June.

More info on Scottish Border Rides next year:

It is likely to be a very hectic year with it being Paris Brest Paris

  • 15th June is Wander Wye date, which is much easier for me being London based.

  • I thinks this is what I will do too

  • and the Ben Allen Tour

605km cycling event starting from Bushley. Controls at Talybont-on-Usk, Llandovery, Devil's Bridge, Wigmore, Allensmore and Shepherds Patch, plus 6 information controls.A new event for 2019.A benign route through picturesque mid Wales. Ideal PBP qualifier, easy navigation, audax friendly controls used. Some cycle route, easily ridden on road bike.Dedicated night stop. The route leaves the upper reaches of the Severn vale for a quiet trek down to the Wye valley through Monmouth and eventually along the Usk valley to Talybont-on-Usk for breakfast. Heading north to once again pick-up the Wye valley as far as Builth. The ride heads west to Llandovery for lunch. You continue west towards Lampeter then follow various river valley to Devil's Bridge. Once on the A44 the main coast road is followed to Machynlleth. The route starts eastwards to Cammaes road, following the A470/B4568 to/through Newtown and the climb up and over banc Gorddwr, dropping down along the Teme valley through Knighton and soon a stop at Wigmore. Day two starts with a long benign stretch to/through Hay-on-Wye, Bredwardine, Moccas, Allensmore to Wormlow Tump. The A466 is followed down to Monmouth again following the Wye valley down to its confluence with the River Severn, crossing the Severn estuary on the Old Severn Bridge, the ride then heads up the Severn Vale through yet more villages/hamlets along quite lanes. Gloucester is passed-through traffic-free, and a final stretch along the A38 to return to Tewkesbury. A surprisingly benign route through some of the prettiest parts of mid Wales, The Welsh Marches, and numerous river valleys. Plenty of places between controls to source addition fueling if necessary.

  • That sounds great!

  • Already full now. I'm in.

  • Jesus, that was quick. Missed it again.

  • Already full now

Liam has done a wonderful job in marketing it. I remember doing it 6 or 7 years ago and there were about 25 riders in total.

  • highfive if you rode Severn Across.

  • Ended up throwing an entry for Windsor Chester Windsor, most of ACH send to be entered so it should be fun, and with Daniel organising it will be well catered like LEL.
