Ironic that she gets through the whole season with minimal drama and then she's been off the bike for weeks now with a back injury after lifting the Sequoia out of the shower having let it dry post-wash.
Hot tip: don't do awkward lifts first thing in the morning.

Massive congratulations to both of you!
Thanks. Will pass it on.
-
• #11854
Naturally, huge congratulations on what is a massive time commitment! New logo colour imo.

Hot tip:
don't wash your bike!
-
• #11857
I've been saying that for years. She's a cleaning machine though.
-
• #11858
Thanks
But I'm still very much picturing Alan grinding out the last of his lumpy 200s today to just pip me at the post :S

I joked (half joked) that if he did beat me from here that I'd go for the overall record next year and destroy all comers in a bid to get my AUK Power Couple joke across.
-
• #11860
Wow, 245! That's impressive. Btw, what is the overall record?
-
• #11861
Something like 370 I think
-
• #11862
Actually looks like it's "only" 324

Simon Roberts did:
Summary: 91@50km, 85@100km, 1@150km, 3@200kmwhich is > 500 quid worth of DIY brevets!

• #11864
I just had a look and I'm on 99 rides completed :)
Mine's a much bigger spread of distances than the record year.
46@50km, 24@100km, 6@150km, 14@200km, 3@300km, 1@400km, 1@600km, 2@1000km, 1@1400km -
• #11865
Yeah that's quite something. You should go for it next season...:)
-
• #11866
I've got better things to do (hmm, do I?). I only started targeting it half-way through this year because I'd started with the 100AAA goal and then saw I was on the leaderboard and that's like a red flag to a fat bull.
-
• #11867
That Shaun Hargreaves does all his riding fixed. Just saying.
I think I spent upwards of £200 on virtual brevet cards this season. £4 a pop to ride around by myself, what am I doing?
-
• #11868
I do all my rides drunk. Is that better or worse than fixed?
Apparently he was on the Highland Fling 1000 this year too.
-
• #11869
Being drunk can go either way, sometimes it’s better, sometimes it’s worse. Riding fixed is shit all the time. Although, being too drunk is considerably worse than fixed, so who knows.
That route went right past my flat in Edinburgh. I spotted him on his fixed Rourke and got strong audax vibes before I knew who he was.
-
• #11870
Could do 9 CX races for that.
-
• #11871
Yeah, riding fixed is only better than gears when you've smashed your RD off. :) Then you want to be riding fixed. I don't mind fixed around town but I have no interest in doing long rides fixed. I love zooming downhill without having to think about my frog in a blender legs too much.
-
• #11872
Is a RRtY the same fixed or geared? Or if I do it fixed do I get my name on another list?
-
• #11873
There’s no additional fixed RRtY. Nothing special about other than impressing about 6 people at most.
-
• #11874
Sounds like a good enough reason to me
-
• #11875
You could probably impress about 10 people if you did RRtY fixed and all rides had AAA points...
Massive congratulations to both of you!
