Nice Bilenky. Out of interest did you get the frame custom made or did you buy it from someone. I was wondering how old the frame was and it seems to have quite a long seatpost.

The magic of the internet....
CyclingWMD - not trying to criticise but just wondering why the top tube wasn't made a little higher - the amount of seatpost and stem showing make it look like it could have been done with the same saddle and bar position. Must have been a fun project to get that frame and bike built up.

roxy that is what I did. You use "copy image location" right?
and it's awesome! screw rollers I'm gonna get two of these and have races at home every night.
Jos, you're just scared 'cause you know it's one of the few bikes that I could probably beat you on!
maybe, but i go to properties and it gives you a URL then put, square bracket (img), then at end do the same but with a /img

dogsballs
tynan
CyclingWMD Here's my Bilenky 'Hetchins Tribute' Track Bike...
I am going to say two conflicting things, firstly this bike is not my kind of thing, the whole Jules Verne Messenger thing never really sparked it for me, but on the other hand regardless of my personal indifference it is undoubtedly a stunning looking bike (apologies for the cognitive dissonance!) - I can appreciate this in the same way I would a classic car, I have no love of them, but when you see a good one you know it.
Great photography too.
I would have gone for Champagne corks in the bar ends ! ;P
i think it's awesome, i think the deep v's blend in nicely. only gripe is the nitto seat post, something a little more vintage is required ie classic campag.
Thanks man! Yeah, I REALLY wish I could've found a more appropriate post. I have some vintage campy's but they're road posts and way short...

I hear ya man, a few others have asked about it as well. I lined it up along another one of my bikes and the saddle is at nearly the same exact height. I think it has a lot to do with the vintage lugs and the crazy geometry of the rear triangle. Not to mention the seat lug ends pretty low and the saddle is super narrow which means it needs to sit a little higher. That def adds to it's length visually. In any case, it was an awesome project to build and fits me perfectly. Rides better than I could've hoped for!

true, the aero ones are tiny. i'll buy the frame and you can get a bigger one so you can use a campag post :p

That all makes sense - now you just have to bring to london and ride it in its spirtual home!
