That Koga track bike is really bad.
Raleigh team "green screen" shot is hilarious.
It's a pro bike. It doesn't have to be pretty, it has to be hardcore.
I've seen it in the flesh on Revolution 11, and it's actually pretty awesome.

Sorry people, was I not clear enough? Koga Miyata made stuff I drooled over then and still do now. I was referring to the one up-thread, not all of them! As a parallel, Team Raleigh 753 frames were stunning, their entry level 'sports' bikes less so....

You were. They can be a bit slow around here.

cool story..
Bike porn doesn't care about hardcore, it cares about pretty.
-10 points for posting an ugly bike and trying to defend it on spurious grounds.

Sorry but the Allez is a dogs dinner and doesn't belong in p0rn .. it's probably a nice ride as by all accounts those steel Allez where but it's neither retro or renaissance! MTB seatpost and stem, Planet x brakes, carbon bottle cages and a 20 year old drive train ..

So you say. Sometimes really exceptional functional design is enough.
That particular Kimera is a bit rough though, needs the 5 spoke track front wheel not the 4-Rays road wheel, and a stem which joins the headset cover directly to the handlebar, e.g. Pro Vibe Track Carbon +10° instead of Vibe 7S -10°
The first generation track stem which had the logo the right way up only when used at +10°, indicating that they knew the right way to build a track bike is with a short head tube and a rising stem.

Nonsense, in the 1980's and 1990's Koga-Miyata marketed everything from entry level models to some of the most exclusive bikes available, including early carbonfibre and titanium models
Dunno what your dad picked up at Halfords for you, but for sure it had no titanium frame, full Dura-Ace and titanium Araya rims...
my interpretation of what op said was regarding that particular bike, not the whole brand

That saddle, and that conversion with a half-link chain, are why people shouldn't post their own bikes in porn.

Bike porn ≠ cp. We don't care why you chose a shit component, only that you did (echoing Tom on don't bother putting your own stuff up)
(and the conversion is pretty horrid tbh. Miss-matched rims, fixed with no foot retention or else touring pedals etc etc)
