Taking it as read that the bike is fitted properly, the choice between 56cm frame/13cm stem and 58cm frame/11cm stem is really one of personal preference.

Venge geometry isn't that MAMIL-friendly (160mm head tube/565mm top tube, cf. Look 585 156mm/560mm). I think the post looks long because the frame slopes so much.
