bar angle looks fine. That purple 'njs' bike sums up bike porn, all the right proportions, colours and photography. purrrrrrrrfect
Crank arms slightly off, valves not perfectly aligned and at the top (a point of contention), pedal bearings not tightened to make them stand upright.
Rank amateurism.

Probably the fussiest poster in the porn thread trolling with landspeed luggage for a reaction? This thread has gone downhill.
Well it was really interesting discussing this with you, thanks.

The blue grips on that purple Watanabe (I think?) matches the downtube decal perfectly. NJS builds don't usually impress me because they're really easy to do ($$$$ + the ability to order parts on the internet), but that one is perfect.

How wrong are thee, let me count the ways...
Bartape
Short Thomson Layback. Never lay back without any visible straight section.
Faux-retro frame, distinctly modern cranks. Should have gone for Campagnolo aluminium cranks
Silver post and stem + black cranks and brifters + silver brakes + silver/black rear mech = make your bloody mind up. -

The Hillman is a track bike though. Look at gearing and the wheels.

custom steel with a huge setback :(
Nice wheels though - what rims are those?

Track or tarck, it's still rad.
Think I'll get some old school Zipp decals for my crabonz.

Do not get. If custom frame, why not get angles right so you don't need fugly lay back seatpost that just doesn't work with lugged frame.

Silver post and stem + black cranks and brifters + silver brakes + silver/black rear mech = make your bloody mind up.I agree with most of your points, but imo there is a definite theme on the colour of the parts - the bits which you can get in silver are silver. The finishing kit, hubs, spokes, etc. all tie together. Just having two black components doesn't ruin it.

I don't like Thomson stuff on road bikes, but I don't think there's anything wrong with having setback on a seatpost, regardless of whether it's a custom frame or not.
