I wonder how much that frame costs "unbranded" by comparison. Also I'm always unsure whether the "no-name" frames direct from a Chinese dealer have the same quality control as the frames that are bought through Ritte, Ribble, PX etc. i.e. are the branded ones getting the pick of the crop?

Basically if you were riding around on a nago/bmc/cervelo hussy, you would still have a look.

That's down to how the brands interact with the factory, and it's not unique to open-mould resellers; even if you design everything in-house and own the design outright, you can still get shafted by your subcontractor.

^^^ Er. Genuine replicas. Or your money back.
(The proportions seem a little wayward)
-
• #76482
So its thee actual frame unpainted? Same carbon same everything?
-
• #76483
same carbon, same hands that made it, just some cosmetic changes on the stays AFAIR.
they got caught red handed sometime ago on some forum and at this point they had to make an official statement adressing this, tl;dr was 'everybody is doing that, our chainstays are different'. -

I get to interview Michael Embacher in the next few days.
Anyone got any burning questions they want answering?
does he have a wear and tear wheel, and if so, which in line are my dibs.

doesn't having the cable straddle thing that low kinda defeat the point of the big clearances

Yeah that's really dumb cabling.
-
• #76490
Trying to work out if a longer cable would fix that, or the cantilevers are just monumentaly shit by design. Might be the former. Looks so wrong.

^ Yes, you wouldn't want to grab the front brake in a panic, with that much mechanical advantage you'd just lock the wheel and endo.
Little modulation either. -

Still love this...

it's not super ugly per-se ... it's just got that whole mtb matchy matchy thing going on - ends up looking a bit 'southend-on-sea'.
Dude, you're on fire!

Little modulation either.Wouldn't you get the most mechanical advantage if the straddle cable was at 90 degrees to the line between the brake pivot (boss) and the cable clamp (the end of the cantilever arm). With the cable angles above a lot of the force would be directed towards the pivot.

These are really useful, but wear down quite easily.

^ what are they?
-
• #76499
flint catchers, they stop sharp things becoming embedded in your tyres.

I was referring to the front unsupported extension.
Thread is indeed becoming a bit gay. More bikes please!
it was explained to you, come on.
