  • yeah come on it clearly says "brensho" on the downtube

  • I lol'd.

  • no fishing apollo

  • ^^^^^You never answered me back.

  • Quoting myself because I can.

  • better yet black saddle, black straps, and black bar tape.

picture it/mock it up, it won't look as good

  • 1st PM received.
    too many lulz

    hahaha

and, you still looking for the bike very much?

  • I suppose if I posted another shit, noodly mid 80's steel frame you'd come in your pants. Just a case of wrong demographic, i probably would have said it was ugly 4 years ago..

It looks like a deep sea creature, which I can allow (the brakes are neat). But the men's-sport-showergel graphics (own brand) make me think you've been smoking crack.

...which differentiates it from the majority of high-end production bikes, how? Pretty much all bike companies have 'sports' graphics these days, I hardly notice them anymore, unless they happen to be particularly bad - I for one don't think the Ridley graphics are any worse than say, Trek or Giant's are.

What grates a bit is that the Noah is full of real design features and (some) innovation, but everyone hates on it... whereas something like a Ritte has ZERO design in it and some OK graphics, and everyone here fawns over them. Surely designed features can be porn?

Considering how many ugly Cervelo's get posted here without a squeak, one can only assume it's down to brand snobbery.

  • The Noah rocks.

Built to look scary, as it flies past you. Not to look cultured, proped outside the expresso shop.

  • Considering how many ugly Cervelo's get posted here without a squeak, one can only assume it's down to brand snobbery.

I'd have a Noah over a Cervelo. But I cant defend that choice outside of saying Ridley took things further.

  • Clearly one was designed on a mac. The other on PC.

I think this is the prablem.

  • ha

  • With those headtube gussets, dropouts and stays? Might look good built up, but not as a frame

Not much worse. Trek's CX bikes and Giant's TCRs look pretty swell these days.

Ritte's innovation was being a road bike and not having shit graphics! This may win as many races as the funky brakes.

C' on, we're always slating ugly Cervelos.

  • ugly Cervelos.

    tautology

  • :)

  • its worth noting that rittes since some time now (when lfgss learned to know better) have been redirected to anti due to the chinese roots

  • Ridley make nice bikes and that have some interesting features. I think integrated seat masts look a bit dated and offers little weight advantage. Im not sure if their aero tech is up there with the brands that tunnel test rather than using cad simulations. S5 is an ugly duckling but is backed up with some strong figures and some of this years builds are growing on me in the smaller sizes.

I am a graphic designer by profession - even I would never claim that graphics could make you go faster :)

    tautology

    have some rep

  • There are three main aero innovations on the Ridley frame, which I'm sure given Ridley's history have been in a tunnel at some point to validate the design ..

The F-Surface treatment paint job. Which reduces drag by allowing air to travel smoothly around the frame instead of creating turbulence

The F-Splitfork and similarly split seatstays. These reduce drag by drawing turbulent air away from the spokes.

The fully integrated F-Brakes cut off more drag compared to standard callipers.

I personally believe that some of the "fawning" for certain brands is a factor of the money pumped into those brands marketing .. Eg. the claim of 'tunnel tested'! Without a standard test specification, independently conducted testing and published data you can not truly compare brand A results with brand B results. A good marketing team can and will claim the favourable results from any in house test and ignore the unfavourable ones unless challenged.

  • ^I really hope you are not serious
