is this the start of the spatr bar backlash..?!

check out what bars are in use in the peloton.
All sorts of weird shit, but not many 'traditional' bends. Full size round bends, for sure, but they give a flat transition too.

Nice bike, but is it really pron? Or am I missing something?
I don't see it, posted in the slave thread as well. Nice enough build, but lacking a little je ne sais quoi... He needs to rattle can the forks to hide the logos for a start, maybe a decent photo would porn it up a bit.

Seatmast/post arrangement and bar angle is fugleh.

With the seatpost higher up and some bars that don't look like snakes it would be very nice. What's the frame?

Looks like a mix up between chainstays and seat stays. Not a fan of the seat clamp either. Or the Red yellow edition or the bar shape.
Usually love Bishop bikes/builds, but this one's a no for me.

Only reason I can think of to ride "classic" drop bars is to get the levers lower and to get further forward when seated into the drops, which kinda makes sense as it looks like most pro riders are riding a size or two too small.

Not everyone loves the flat transition of compacts.

In the curves, when putting the hammer down, you have better access to the gears.
The flat part of the drop is also flatter, so is better for a fast low cruising position.
The reason us mortals love our compact bars is the short reach, and short drop demand less flexibility.
Trad bend bars on that bike and everyone is now used to compacts with a flat transition.
However, check out what bars are in use in the peloton.
