maybe that extension above the stem is made of foam to make the "missed my drops again and hit my chin on the stem" situations more bearable?

my new bike savings account is currently set on a canyon. If I can find something like this in 53/54cm, I think I'll change my mind

that's the easiest way to avoid a plastic one, you will find one easily.
you can always build it with modern parts gaining a superb ride. -

+1. Cannondale is one step up the dung ladder from Marin.

Looks like a 'totally impracticle unless pro and/or forstemman thighs' 55/14 ratio too...

I dont think there is any doubt that it is a track bike.
and its 'impractical'.
this sscx trend combined with prolly wanking over it is getting boring.. :( -

and its 'impractical'.
I have amazed myself with that spelling error...
Also not saying it's not a track bike, but you need to spin in a sprint, and you need to accelerate pretty quick. A gear that big is either impractical or pro quality. -

That's an interesting viewpoint, considering that Cannondale routinely win respected group tests for many different classes of bicycle.
Liquigas (and before them Saeco) might also suggest that the choice of international pro-teams should not be wholly discounted.

I'm with Dammit on that one .. You have to respect Cannondale's mainstream achievements with Aluminium and lately Carbon, even if you don't partake in the foolish or excessive adulation of the Cannondale track that most of the fixed gear community does ..

Looks like 55t, but 55/14 would only be 103", not a massive gear when you're following a fat bloke on a moped.

Bit of a mess really... Salsa stem?!
Its difficult to find upward pointing quill stems. They tend to just be old MTB ones, and out of them salsa would be one of the best and most subtle.

I believe it.
In that case;
