I came across them on a thread on mtbr.com when looking for inspiration for my Pomp monster cross build.

I work with rocket scientist (@eutelsat) and I can reliably tell you that the brainier the bod the stranger the haircut - you can double that for Russian rocket scientists - it hard not to giggle sometimes
Heh, EADS Astrium is a client of ours, we had a meeting with them recently and my Texan colleague, with no hint of irony, used the phrase "it's not Rocket science" when describing some of the workings of the new dot-Astrium Top Level Domain.

I passed A Level Physics in 1968 but then went on to study Botany at university (I guess I'm just not that awesome)
Good luck to those taking the exam!

Constant belittlement, you literally cannot help it can you?
How is saying that I was shockingly under-prepared for an examination belittling anybody?

It's a repost of a bike specifically designed for riding across wet sand in morcomb bay iirc.

Its been discused a lot.
Lots of aspects at odds with each other.
Still it looks fecking brilliant, and the feeling of self drive you'd get, once you span up those Hookworms would be amazing.

We all have to find our level on the awesomeness scale

Needs more clearance idealy. Although that would spoil the look somewhat.
The tyres will deposite sand onto the chain, and from there into the drivechain.
Hookworms are great though. Took some wet grass, and mud filled shortcuts on my loaded longbike. Forward traction, and tracking was pretty much unaffected at the admittedly slow pace I was riding. Plus they are bloody comfortable.

I won't dredge up the discussion again then!
Yeah I definitely agree with the fact it looks awesome, apart from that bar angle...

Worth searching in this thread and on the net tho. I have some epic image in my head of it being ridden across a bay.
...although I may have subsequently made it up.

ahem....first posted back in '09
also it was designed to ride across a desert not a beach
that being said he's taken it out in the wet
Wow, that's nice...
well... I prefer to say that some people believe that fixed gear involves much more than "supercoolretrosteeltrackframeswithvintagecampyforurbanlife" and there's life beyond urban assaults...
Fixed gear it's something without defined shape, including enjoying it over any kind of terrain, potholes, road, dirt tracks, mud...http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_1f6uQlI9sWc/SQ5SV32K2NI/AAAAAAAABbk/SR5CNojch7k/s1600-h/DSC02683.jpg
so... if this is to be a wanker... yes, I'm! ;)
