Aren't compact road bars all pretty much equal?
I like FSA Omegas and was planning on using Spotterdrops™ in a wider width on another bike. Is there much difference in their shape?
You'd notice a difference between the Omegas and Spotter's, the latter have an odd curve on the drop that felt like a gap between the palm of my hand and the bar.
Insofar I find the 3T Ergosum and Salsa Cowbell to have a very comfortable drop.
IMO etc. etc.

I see what your saying. They actually slightly more traditional-bend than most 'compact' bars.
Ta.

A mate of my brothers showed up at L'Eroica with this.
It belonged to his uncle and hung in the shed since his death 25 years ago!
Built by the local framebuilder - Campag record, regal saddle, pantographed Cinelli bars, classic black saddle/white bar tape combo with tan hoods - utter perfection...
And the stem/fork crown pantograph is the best i've ever seen...

that is fucking retarded
-
• #68858
Piss of! That's lush.
-
• #68859
Needs a slimmer stem though.
-
• #68860
ok - if the frame is solid and doesnt have any couplers,
thats fucking retarded.

Ok, I too can't see how they got the belt in there...
-
• #68862
Not sure why you'd think an experienced framebuilder would forget to include a way of removing the belt but luckily in this case they haven't.
-
• #68863
yes
-
• #68864
Its not that likely an unexperienced builder would either tbh. Youd have to be pretty out of it to build a frame with a belt in the triangle while you bake it with no way to take it out. Oops how did that get in there? :)
I kinda like it. If i loved riding without gears and had the cash, why not.

^^^I repeat. Lush.

^^ Not sure - the grey colour and yellow sticker looks like Mavic Open 4CD which apparently came out in the 80's so they could be period correct.

Think you might be right there. At first glance they looked like Open Pro CDs or maybe the Campagnolo Omega Strada Hardox - the latter would have been period-ish as well I suppose.
