^^ Yes, but poor aerodynamics and slow wheel changes aren't problems. They're just hindrances.

They are problems if you're trying to win races.

Are you sure?

It's also a problem if the neutral service car has a different disc size fitted to the wheels to your setup or no disc brake wheels because the other teams are running rim brakes ..

It's also a problem if there is no porn in the porn thread

I know it's not porn but stick with the disc thing. It will fizzle out soon enough.
Quick wheel changes with a disc would be a problem. Maybe that could be designed out. A tapered lead in on the calipers or something..
With my limited knowledge of road racing, ref: TdF could teams have different bikes for different stages. Rim brakes for flatter stages where Aero is important. Discs for the mountains, where riders climb slowly so aero less important. Then rip down hill where ultimate braking power would be required. (assuming you can deal with the heat issue).
I think the caliper could be quite neat and mostly fit behind the fork. The frontal area of the disc isn't that great. Maybe the biggest aero draw back would be the spoke count as Tester says.

The frontal area of the disc isn't that great.
If aero was just about frontal area, we'd all be riding 16mm Pianni rims from the 1980s, not 27mm wide Zipps. As soon as there's the slightest crosswind, a flat brake disc generates a lot of turbulence off both leading and trailing edges.

Crosswinds. Yeah. Dam.
Would have to be something really skeletal and minimal possibly?
I really want to knock something up in CAD!

Grips and americanised branding ruins it imo.
For road racing, aerodynamics is the problem which will keep discs off racing bikes. That and slow wheel changes.
For fat MAMILs riding sportives, the combination of high rider weight and low rider skill places more demands on the brakes, and the same applies to touring bikes and tandems, so it's nice that people are working on disc brakes which work properly with integrated brake/shift levers for the CX market, but for proper road racers there is no problem for discs to solve.
