  • Nice, I think the whole things Ti?

  • ^ T's indeed tasty.

  • Does the rear brake outer really need to be that long?

Does the rear brake outer really need to be that long?

Yes, after trying different lengths this had the least friction when pulling the lever.
Initially the tight bend of a shorter outer seemed to inhibit the effectiveness. Does look long though.

  • Fair enough.

  • Hinault is a beaut

    just missing these

although i think they need clips/straps

  • Ummm... I know it'll get shouted at because of the silly tape and rear stickers, but I can't help but love so much else of this build....so I'm just going to pretend it's just not quite finished yet.

  • Controversial.

  • Debatable.

  • It's just a shame he ran out of tape and some cnut photochoped those stars on. Oh well.

    Just scrolling back, and have to give some rep for;

....probably the most beautiful steel forks ever:

    More here.

  • The more I look at the Hinault frame, the more I like it.
Even the colours are kinda growing on me!
There's just lots of really nice, tidy, and well thought out bits that make up a really nice frame.
And even though the frame is a little oversized compared to the forks, it still works with the straight legs.
As someone on the Current Projects thread said, it looks very purposeful.

  • Hainault:

    Hinault

  • ^^ it's just simply very well put together. Everything works beautifully in unison.

The only 'weak area' I'd say are the wheels. Some nicer tyres and possibly something like a set of CXP30's or ideally CXP14's would finish it off perfectly.

Aligning the brake pads might sharpen the response some more

  • The brake cable wasn't even clamped in the photos too :O

  • Then maybe setting up brakes is best left to someone else?

  • Inside Moser's garage.
