Yeah Oz. !
I had some meetings with the Merckx Management for some business but they just speak about " Money Money Money ". Don't ask them to have a look on the archives or something else than " Money and deals "...
I've just met an old mechanics who knew it was a prototype and rembered that Eddy tested it but this guy wasn't the responsible for this project.
I wish to meet an old frame builder from the former factory ( Meise, Belgium ) because I have tons of other questions about this frame and other titanium prototype and special pro-series which aren't available online.

Jersey I agree with you on this, i really don't like those things. Paramounted also hit the nail on the head with his monster truck comment. They look like they took a 3 year olds drawing of a bike with MASSIVE tyres and made it for real.
As an aside, I've ridden through forests which have fire roads running through them in deep snow, I struggled getting there on the roads, but off road on 2.1 tyres I was fine.

The discussion wasn't about whether or not you 'like' those things, or even what they 'look' like...both of those points are irrelevant to the bikes purpose...It was about the fact that Jersey was claiming that they had been designed for no real reason, were unnecessary, and that only morons need or use them.
Your second statement shows that you also clearly have no understanding of why they exist. The fact that you got on fine on your 2.1" tyres shows that you clearly weren't riding on the same kind of surfaces these bikes were invented for.
Still...If you're also happy to agree with the person who has formed as simplistic an opinion as 'they're for morons' due to his lack of experience, understanding, and knowledge on the subject, then go with it...I'm sure you'll learn plenty.

Whatever rocks your boat, I can also appreciate the aesthetics of a fully loaded touring/exploring bike... but that looks shite, in any way possible. Imo.

I looked and cheapest looked like £53.99 probably with postage ontop... is it really equal to 6 lesser chains?
*or £44.98 shipped from Taiwan

I got mine from the US when the $ was 2-1 so half price, they were about $60/70

There is far more to porn than just looks in my opinion.

I was standing under a bridge for a moment there. Despite that I do think TT bars are wrong, also the forks don't look right at all. It looks like they're not long enough for the frame and it's changing the geometry especially with the low BB.
I'm sure there's reasoning behind it but to me the more I look at it the more I dislike it.
I agree with you that there is more than just aesthetics to porn. Which is why I was posting all those legendary DH bikes a few months back
Ha, Dream are using that frame. Can't find anything in google on them as putting "dream bicycles" into the search is such a shit thing to do.
