through the steerer. back in the day we'd drill a hole in the top cap and bend the star nut to skirt the hose by.

now they make similar products such as this

any cable that goes to the rear just wraps around the stem/headset. gives you a few turns. have to plan out your tricks though. If you're really really dumb about it tightens up. In that case you likely aren't gonna land the trick anyway cause you're clearly a knob.
