  • Chris Hoy used the same bars at worlds?

No, FES/Focus copied some similar bars that Team GB have been using for a while. Or Team GB copied FES. Or they came up with similar ideas independently. Whatever, they are not he same bars, they are just both using integrated aerodynamically shaped bar-stems.

  • Are those NJS risers?

    (bloody nice frame though)

  • hipster shootout. the bespectacled oracle v midget phil mitchel.
a 3 lap race at herne hill to the death, if they can actually ride that far?

This I would pay good English moneyz to watch.
One riding a banana against the other riding a fully equipped Llama.
    Epic.

  • I still want one of those lo pro with crown mounted bar clamp, but it would be pointless as I'd have nowhere to ride it properly.

  • You could consider a road version.

  • Orly? I thought similar regs applied to TT frames as they do to track frames. Like both wheels having to be the same dia. etc

  • Just rock a pair of these while riding to the track:

These days, the 'proper' place to ride such bikes is up and down the pavement at a walking pace in London's famous "East End of London".

You're right, they are UCI illegal.
But you can ride these bikes for "fun" though.
    Or in non-UCI controlled events.
Or proof that you are that "different" that you are forced to ride a bike with a different geometry. Being an oz would be a good excuse.

  • I'd feel like a dick riding a lovely bike like that on the road without giving it a good thrashing. Racing is the fun I get from riding but only if there's no pressure to win. TT's are good for me in the way that I'm only there to beat myself.

Not heard of many non-UCI controlled events. I've heard rumours of a new organisation though.

  • Most people don't need a small front wheel and a crown mounted handlebar; one or the other will get you low enough unless you're about 4'9". You can still race funny bikes in UK Time Trials, and I sometimes do.

  • edit: le sigh

  • It's just taken me 2hrs to change a sprocket, put on two tyres, put on some tribars and check the brakes.

Still needs bar tape and a chain

And only 2sec to post in the wrong thread.
    Congrats

  • Ffs....

  • Aww cock. I thought i was in the TT thread for some reason.

  • Very short handlebars... Makes me wonder if someone has done a fail and put on some deep bullhorns the wrong way.

In regard to the forks, if they had a more conventional dropout - going in front of the fork rather than inline then I would like them. Inline dropout only look good on aero forks like on the Giant omnium imo

As you say, nice frame though

  • QR in track bikes makes my head spin.

  • 3 threads and always the same internet beef. boring.

fes labled to focus. carsten bergemann's bike.

Mr. Bergemann must have long arms... lol.

  • ^^^^^ oh and i like the bottle of beer next to the rollers..

  • Bike shop in Barcelona; taken the Rapha vibe and really gone to town...
