  • ^ I'd prefer that with an inline seatpost, some decent cranks and a matching front wheel.

  • and some slippers?

  • I *really *like that bike... just the way I liked this one.

But, and I know you didn't mean it that way, if anything the default position is big tyres are not awesome. I know this to be true because after riding my cx bike through winter on 38c/32c and now being back on 25c they are simply a million times better.

does it really need the level hubs? I ask cos I've got a pair and they weigh a ton...so much so I'm probably gonna use them for their orignal purpose a- on my mtb.

  • mega-want that Rossin.

  • look how close you could get if you were standing on the left back corner. I bet there's a big footprint just cropped out.

I was going to suggest really heavy, yet small, radio controlled cars inside the tyres, to encourage the bike to roll forwards.

    You're probably right though.

  • Cheers Ed.

    Amaro Lollobrigida?

    cough

  • ^^not really what I meant but tis a good picture

  • That colnago is just setup for fun in the streets. Except it's rear tyre that looks like it'd die in no time.

  • mega-want that Rossin.

    Uhuh +1

  • how did the spam get through the nursery?

  • Chinese voodoo

  • Let me count the ways in which that isn't porn
    1: non-matching rear wheel
    2: plastic toe clips
3: no bar tape or plugs
5: front qr, and on the wrong side too
6: street gearing on a track bike

Nice frame, but abused like that it should be in anti porn

can someone explain me please, why the QR has to be to the left side of the bikes, please

  • The one on the back is because it would be in the way of the derailleur otherwise, I always assumed the one on the front was becuase it matches then. No doubt mdcc will give you a 'fuller' explination.

  • I though the same as spotter did.

  • no discussion about the back, but the front??? does really matters or just aesthetics....
    waiting for mdcc to anwser

  • I wonder if its because if its on the left you wont have to stand in the road to take your wheel off?

  • I squat in front of the bike so that ^ makes no difference.

  • also don't forget to take in account of driving on the different side .

  • Also think of how many old forks are built. Dropout situated just in front of the fork. Then think of how the majority of QRs are designed - lever to one side which just fits in nicely with the forks.
This QR is the exception to my theory ^^^^^^^
If you put the style of QR I'm thinking of on the LH of the bike it just doesn't fit

  • about the QR thing. always think that it must go to the left side for "compensate" the crankset-cog-chain and derealiur weight.... and get a "better" balanced bike...at least for my imagination....so the ciclo-computer or front light, must go in the left side off the handlebar if its not possibly put them in the center...

    that its my theory

  • first I though it might be some rule about velodrome and about things that might hit the ground when falling down but not sure are QRs even allowed there. Weight distribution sounds quite reasonable too.

I always think lights on the right hand side to give oncoming cars a better idea of your width.

  • if you try and remember that some of the bikes in this world also run disc brakes, then it makes (would make) sense to put the QR away from disc - which is to the right
at least that''s what i did on my MTB

  • Re: Quick release

Its pretty obvious that your race mechanic can better reach and use the rear QR if it is on the non-drive side, away from the derailier/chain etc. It is simply convience to have the front on the same side. Not a big mechanical issue, just a finishing touch, like lining up your tyre logos.

On MTB's with disc brakes both QR'sare on the drive side, as brake discs can get fecking hot. On my winter beater I have recently built new wheels with disc compatible hubs, as I plan to upgrade. I automatically placed the QR's on the drive side, but as I am still running V's that makes no sense. Such is life.
