dude, if are riding your bike, you gonna fuck up parts after a while,
saddle too and different saddles have different height, so if this plastic
SLR (or what ever it is) is fucked up , you will have not many options
for a saddle to get the same saddle height.I am riding my bike and I am fucking up the saddle (too many cross style remounts!). I just buy another one the same as the saddle works for me. Luckily that is an SLR which will be around for a long time combined with mass of used ones.
And I am 44 and have used SLRs on and off for years

Now apologise for insulting the more senior members perineum's.

Shame its a size too small for the rider though.
I though it seemed fine, wouldn't a size up mean a shorter stem thus compromising handling?

Rene Herse, now you're talkin', would love to own one, or an Alex Singer at that.
incidentally my British Lightweight should be of similar weight as that Rene Herse, especially with 3 speed derailleur, TA cranks, double butted 531, mafac etc.

yeah, but a. it's kinda ridiculous to have all the time the same/very similliar saddle
and b. in 10 years the owner will be over 40 or smth :] and will never ever can ride
a little fuckn hard saddleive got SLRs on all my bikes ,geriatric backlash-my old mans 81 and rides his bike almost everyday with an SLR fitted

really ride this bike...You clearly have never looked at a frame with an integrated seatpost close up, have you? The concept is very similar to carbon forks, i.e. you use spacers to give you a, admittedly smaller, range of adjustment.
I've a Ti frame with one and there's plenty of scope for adjustment using spacers and the micro seatpost that the saddle's attached to.

you would need that special frame with super thin tubes and all the modified parts.

yeah but this Ti-frame has no seatdome and a stubby (or how is that shit called, that holds the saddle on the seatdome?) with that you can adjust +/- 2,5cm

100% serious

Since the British Lightweight isn't going to be build as a randonneur bicycle, the standard DB 531 frame is light enough to make it into a 50's weight weenie.

Shirley repost but I can't remember it here, anyway it's a 24" wheeled Serotta, from the '84 Olympics.
I'm 45 and have SLRs on all my bikes (except for the Arione on my Hirame, but I'm just waiting for a yellow SLR to turn up)
