nice. lots of mini fails like gunslinger hoods and spacers but it's still full of win.
i'm guessing it's been ridden a lot and possibly raced.
shimano on italian steel.
it's a fuck you to the weightweenie's and porn police. -

Should loose those ZIPP stickers though.
I don't (really) mind them on the more 'futuristic' frames nowadays, but here they're distracting too much. -

Think this post is deserved to be here...
From Sweden by the way...Last time one of that guy's bikes was posted here I think it was agreed that he in fact lives in Greenland. You can tell because of the colour of the houses, gradient of hills, depth of snow etc.

My Look 585 is under 6.8 for about £3K by buying only brand new stuff in the sales. There's scope to go cheaper and lighter by using some second hand stuff and running tubulars rather than 700x25 clinchers. The 585 isn't really the WW platform of choice, a Cervelo R3 or Scott Addict would be better value if you only care about the weight.
What would be the frame of choice for someone who only cares about the weenie?

dont like any of those WW bikes not enough patina, what happens when they go for a long ride do they take bottles with them or is water to heavy ?

it's a fuck you to the weightweenie's and porn police.I totally agree, with regards to not being the lightest considering the high end nature. I'd still say there was'nt a gram of excess fat on it.
Shame its a size too small for the rider though.

Also, is it really a good idea to have an integrated seatpost on a crossbike? I know you're not changing you height like on a mtb, but still I'd of thought you might need to sometimes...but then maybe its a pure race bike....???
A cross bike is just like a road bike. Once the saddle height is correct why would you change it?. Not like you would lower it to do some jumps or something :-)

Crappy chainring bolts. Fail. Next....
Disagree. I think they work, or is there a quality issue?Front QR fail. Straight to anti-porn it goes!
Yes. Yes that is a fail.a bike to gloat about on weightweenies, not for riding.
fail.
What a load of rubbish.Firstly it's not even a stupidly light bike, secondlyhow are Edge wheels, S Record, Clavicula cranks, etc. solely the domain of WWs? A couple of those made it to Velocio's Robin Mathers, didn't they?Too may taste bypass victims in the room more like. Lurid paint job Al frame does NOT equal porn.
True. But a well made frame, with beautiful attention to detail and quality parts does.Re those Colnagos... seriously? They are all fucking hideous.

Logic?dont like any of those WW bikes not enough patina, what happens when they go for a long ride do they take bottles with them or is water to heavy ?
Also I never understand the WW backlash on here. If you actually read the site and look at some of the bikes, there is often a focus on getting the balance between weight and a functioning bike. It's interesting that you mention a water bottle, as that is an eg that I have heard on there - if you forget your water bottle, you don' think, "great I've saved 750g, you think fuck I don't have any water".
...Its just that they have a fetish for lightness, the same way that many of us do for things like well joined tubing.

^^Re seat height - That sort of answers my Q. I didn't know if in cx whether you needed to make adjustments depending on the type of terrain.

I like what they do on WW and I do browse the site.
I think the Klein looks great but not quite my cup of tea I prefer bikes with scars that tell a story. No backlash from me towards WW in general -

I asked the same question on here myself.
I run the saddle on my 29er a tad lower than normal. So my thinking is that if serious CX'ers do the same, and want to do decent road miles on the same bike. They'll need adjustability. No idea though.

I set my cross bike saddle height (my only bike) so it is perfect for road use which is then also perfect for off road use. I have never felt that I needed to lower it off road.
Maybe other people lower their saddles at risk of losing efficency but me and the bloke with the Ti one up there must be happy with constant height. -

Maybe my bum hangs lower then most, and I need to move the saddle out of its way off-road.reconsiders beer intake for newyears eve

saddle too and different saddles have different height, so if this plastic
SLR (or what ever it is) is fucked up , you will have not many options
for a saddle to get the same saddle height.but all theoretical shit, don't think that the owner is gonna
really ride this bike... -
• #40571
Even if the white SLR is fucked up, there's still a lots of saddle that's of similar height of the SLR.
-
• #40572
so if this plastic
SLR (or what ever it is) is fucked up , you will have not many optionsTo be fair, Titanium lasts a long time, so when Selle Italia stop making SLRs, you can just put the frame in the loft for 10 years until they re-introduce them as part of their retro line (see original Turbo and Flite)

• #40573
yeah, but a. it's kinda ridiculous to have all the time the same/very similliar saddle
and b. in 10 years the owner will be over 40 or smth :] and will never ever can ride
a little fuckn hard saddlebtw: speculatin in porn thread about other people's bikes is kinda fun

• #40574
I don't think anyone is (or would) argue that a fully integrated seatpost/tube is more practical. Pedals too might be a problem if you switched.
I just know a friend who mtbs was lusting after one of those hydrolic seatposts, and I'm sure I've read hippy saying he changes the hight on his track bike depending on the situation... so I just wanted to know if ppl changed the height of their cx bikes.
