That is very nice.

Look like it can shred your legs though, which is a bit worrying.

I didn't know that bike would be an agitator.
I hope this one hasn't been posted yet, as I couldn't figure out by searching for "Mercian", such was results' volume.I particularly like the colour transition on the seat stay.
That's nice. I wouldn't choose those cranks, but do like the paint job.
any ideas when that pic was taken? either it's old, or the restaurant over the road really needs to update it's sign. 071 hasn't been an area code for ages!

+1 on cranks, definitely not ideal but still works
that mercian was in the window of tokyo fg like winter last year, right when it opened... so restaurant area code fail!
i lusted hard after that bike. hard. -

And a chainring can't? Think before you post!
Also, at the top of the chainring (Where you are most likely to get bitten) the teeth are totally covered by the actual belt.
More to the point, those rubber belts stretch and bounce, don't they? And are they strong enough to take the forces? Won't they just snap? can't be as strong as a metal chain...[/troll]

A chainring is less likely to, because the teeth is vertical, whether the belt one stick out sideway.
Think before you post.

absolute Bollox!
there are far more forces going through the handlebar, stem, headset and fork steerer, than the bottom.
lethal!Really? Back in the day when I was riding BMX you would see loads of cracked bottom headset cups and flared head tubes but never any damage to the top of the headset and the bars are much taller on a BMX so potentially more leverage there too?
Back then, this was the answer.

I can't believe Custom Riders still sell them. I still have one at home somewhere and it weighs a ton!

Don't think so, was too busy drooling over this lovely minimal rack;

Har. Har. I was under the impression they made more than one type of bike. Only idle curiosity in any case. I get excited anytime I see something that might fit me.

love it, just love it.

Not for me. There is only one thing a sparkly brown reminds me of....
....a shit roled in glitter.
-
• #37074
I'm really not into the color either, but the whole 'shite' together makes loads of sense.
reminds me of Scott's Brooklin. -

saddle is (aestetically) too forward. The color is quite awful.
To be honest...even the belt drives aren't anything new on bikes...Jericho bicycles from the U.S had a belt drive MTB frame years ago. Stunning frame it was too...just ahead of the game though so too much scepticism made it a no go.
