Leaving all else aside, I don't think you're supposed to clamp the EC90z post that far up the shaft, and he could have saved a bunch of weight by using a smaller frame. The seat clamp is a real boat anchor too, about 3 times the weight of a true weight-weenie part. Same goes for the Chub - proper weight-weenie fixed riders use either American Classic or a front disc hub with a bolt on sprocket. No wonder he's not even close to the weight-weenie bench mark of 7.2lb for a fixed bike with a front brake.
Whats the deal with all of these lightweight freaks running such weak gi's?

Phil, low flange.
Yeah sure, we do need to get something together soon.

They aren't. They're also using small cogs so the GI shouldn't be too small.

the website says he running 39/14 which is a pretty good 72 inches, it just looks a bit silly.
although it also says he's planning to drop down to 39/11 which one would hope is not his road gear, seeing as he's brakeless at 92inches

The saddle height makes the bike look rubbish.
Nice though.

I was thinking the same thing.
I work in a bike shop and its amazing the amount of nice bikes ruinned but bad set up, but then again its about how they fit you more than looks to me -
• #29994
That's true. But an ill fitting frame that's set up right for the rider is still shit.
Better than an ill fitting bike not set up right, though.

And again, Max. What?!
-
• #29996
Compact cranks look wank on blingy bikes
-
• #29997
Thanks Max, but I've now ordered a Dura-Ace headset from the shop.
Was a) a fair bit cheaper and b) keeping in with the DA theme (sad, I know)
Opinions: Shall I swap my Phil Wood high-flange, cut-outs for some HF Dura-Ace track...?
-
• #29998
Fair enough, it's just Martin was wondering if you still wanted it, as you didn't get back to him.
Don't swap your hubs, Phil are much better.
