@ fixie inc discussion - But they are also a small grass roots company who support numerous riders and bike related communities so maybe it's worth paying a few extra £.

The Fixie Inc Pure Blood is gorgeous. I liked the concept a lot when I first saw one at the Bike Show a couple of years ago but ended up buying a titanium frame of the same ilk.

Do my eyes deceive me? How is this bike standing up? Where are the shaddows? I can't see it hanging from anywhere?
Yeah that is seriously fucked up.... It looks like they cut the bike (and the one behind it) out of another photo and just pasted over the old photo. To me anyway.

Needs different bars, and it would be perfect

yes that is pure photoshop... why is the question that comes to mind...
as for the fixie inc bikes... they are not only expensive, they are VERY expensive... how can a 4130 chromo frame built up cost 1150£ (assuming mosquito is not raising the price drastically)... although perhaps the carbon belt drive & the pretty nice detailing brings the price up dramatically? These are not handmade bikes afaik.

The light looks right. So does all the detail behind the spokes? (I do not use PS so I don't know it's limitations etc)
Why paste the bikes on to a track scene where the backdrop isn't all that interesting?

I think its been rolled between 2 people, and photoed in motion

I missed the helmet in this, seriously you'd have to be a f***ing bellend to wear one of these!

The light looks right.
...but no shadow.

To PS those bikes on to that back ground seems a little pointless. I can only presume they must be hung with some pretty heavy weight fishing line and then the fishing line possibly PSed out.

there is a shadow for the white bike and due to the angle of the lighting the shadow for the red one would be out of shot

Saying that I really like the look of those forks. I wish they sold them seperately.
your wish may come true if you contact Mosquito. Think the forks were around £100 the last time I asked.

the guys shadow is going to foward / left as is the bike - the shadow of the bike is the wrongway round though. I'm struggling to work out wtf is going on with this picture, what has been cut out / added in??? It's a photoshop shitstorm!

The shadows look correct. the shadow on the floor is for the white bike. ie going foward and left.

you don't even need to look at shadows. The outside edge of the bottom half of the front tyre is wrong, it has that superimposed look and doesn't 'gel' with the surrounding ground.
-
• #29595
Yep - I think what fucks everything up is you can't gauge how high the bikes are being suspended above the ground. Thus, it's all actually totally real!

Photo aside there are many reasons that bike would be an utter fail on the track
lets start with:
slack geometry
Brakes
Knobbly tyres
stupidly low gearingit looks more setup for ss cyclocross, and to me seems to be a decent option if you don't mind carrying that heavy frame around in the mud, oh and not being able to change gear. it's like when hipsters discover cyclocross and try to make a 'scene' out of it, while still sucking at it.
-
• #29597
It is a cyclocross frame not a track frame.
-
• #29598
There's a really nice geared version too.
-
• #29599
Maybe not the best actual race bike but I would take it over an SS MTB every time.

my error, what i mean is that there's no direct shadow coming from the red bike, it only appear half a metre away from it, making it appear to be floating in mid-air.
edit - too late.
