I got shat on by a single speed MTB yesterday. I blame it on the fact he had rigid forks and I had Rock Shox. That and the fact he was faster than me.

i dunno man. MTBs need suspension up front at the very least. any MTB lacking suspension is anti in my opinion.
Fool!

i know!
nah. just riding rigid MTBs feels shitty and slower to me.
might be the trails i'm used to as well.
you just can't go as fast or as aggressively.

surely you can go faster on a rigid mtb? stiffer & more aggressive?
unless you mean you cant ride as aggressively because it would hurt more?

I don't like numb wrists, but fully rigid can be fun.

unless you're talking North Shore style stuff this is not true(for me anyway)
fully rigid superlight mtb =fast as f*ck
full bounce off-road compared to fully rigid is like hybrid compared to track framed bike on-road (IMHO) -

bend elbows-ride-repeat(eventually no more numb wrist)

Theoretically front sus improves control and front wheel traction. Allowing more speed on winding trails. Rear suspension maintains rear tyre contact, giving more efficient drive over bumpy trails.
I could'nt really give a shite if this is true or not TBH.
Ride what makes you grin the most!

Apparently they're made by Sugino. All of the Suntour NJS group was made by other people.
Hubs were Sansin
Pedals were MKS
Cranks were SuginoNot sure about the rest.
