Who's the hell is Eddie Dolan? Terry Dolans brother?
I think there was some legal sponsorship wrangling regarding the Boardman frames, if I remember correctly Dolan built them and then Look took the measurements and remade them, due to Boardman having to ride these frames due to Credit Agricoles deal with Look.
The GT/Yamaguchi on the other hand no idea whats going on there...

I guess I was led to believe this because of the usage of True Temper... Yamaguchi's choice of steel, and also he was deeply involved with the US track team in the early 90's.
Could (might) be wrong. -

It's probably a Tiemeyer, not a Yamaguchi.

just found this on LAfixed, supposedly it comes from reliable (very reliable) source:
"...Koichi only ever did repairs on GT frames. He never built for them. There were a very small number of his National Team bikes that were later repainted to look like GTs so it would not be impossible to find a GT painted frame that was made by Koichi but it would be really rare. Since they copied his design it is kind of hard to tell with the paint on but I can tell looking at the chain stays and seat stays (here author refers to a different bike/frame) that the finishing work is clearly not Koichi's. All the best. B..." -

Just for the record: repairing a frame is more difficult than building one. In general, not talking about adding or removing a braze-on. E.g. replacing tubes.

So it's probably not his frame, still it looks awfully a lot like this vvv

from when one of the big Japanese builders (yamaguchi? i know someone's going to correct me) was doing frames for the US team
Yamaguchi lives in the US. And i'm not sure he made these frames for the US national team.
yamaguchi did build for the us team back in the 90's. as far as im aware he did build the frame above, and if i recall correctly they were for the us national team
please correct me if i'm wrong

(Not GT, unknown French builder)

im going on a post from another forum member with a version of the above frame, who said it was built by Yamaguchi. to be honest there is so much confusion and so few people who actually know its not really a mystery that could be easily solved

also the gt has different dropouts to yamaguchi's normal dropouts used nowadays, not sure if that matters though, but could be a clue

i thinks its a nice shape/design, plastic pedals old pug when i get it will turn into something very similar.
-
• #26066
that right there^^^ could very well be one of very few Koichi built/re-branded GT frames. 'cuse similarity with that white frame is up in 90s percentile. i just thought that story was worth a post.

i think that white yamaguchi frame (or one just like that) resides (or used to) in boston. i have seen it here numerous times. i think its owner was planning to send it back to Koichi-son for re-paint.
