yer obviously mitre i wasnt having a jib as i think its done for a purpouse and to whoever it was custom made for its there personal preference
i do love it on a lugged frame on the other hand
i think the only time id choose fillet brazing over lugged bicycle construction would be if it was a lo pro tbh -

I just fucking hate white saddles and bar tape! After tyres, they're the worst parts to have white.
Merckx AXM in a less offensive colorway
I bet it's an absolute joy to ride, especially as sitting on it you're guaranteed not to have to look at it side on because it's not pretty whatever colour you paint it. -

sorry if repposszzzzt. but hey, he's missing gripz already.

I appreciate that the gum coloured hoods are a nod to the retro colour scheme, but on a bike as modern as an AXM they look shit. With matching white Hudz it would at least have carried through the 'Pro' white contact points theme consistently.

contact points = black or brown :)
IMHO it only looks nice if the decals, or some part of the graphics, are in white. That merkx would look better with yellow saddle and bar tape to match the logo.
For the record, the XC bike I'm putting together has white saddle; grips; and rims. This looks a bit shite untill you get the bike seriously muddy, then it looks great (again IMHO).

You obviously aren't familiar with Nicolai.
i'm very familiar with nicolai i even rode one of the first bikes officially imported into the u.k. but i was commenting on frame builders in general, there are quite a few springing up catering to the doe eyed market where looks over performance seems to be the priority.
still wouldn't buy a nicolai road frame their mountainbikes are something else though, i don't think the words 'ride quality' translate well to german aluminium -

this must have been posted here somewhere. and i'm sure a lot of you will get sore eyes (why i just post a link and no image...)
anyhow, a fixed gear bike used to complete an ironman is pure performance/utitlity porn to me.

http://fixedgeargallery.com/2009/oct/2/WilliamCoryFoulk.htmThat rocks.
The triathlon crew could'nt give a rats arse about asthetics it seems (There's a few in the anti-porn thread, wrongly so IMHO). The itonman crew obviously take it a step further. -

I know this isn't the place, but I'm going out of my mind....
... to take a lockring off a fixed hub you unscrew it clockwise right?
As in the way the hands go round a clock?
Yes. As in the direction the chain would travel when cycling (ie. not the way you'd want your sprocket to loosen). Hugo7 I'm starting the think your hub threads are fecked :(
ED: where'd the original post go? good job I quoted it :)
ED ED: Its on another thread. How'd i manage that? -

If someone like welds which look like scar tissue ;-)
yeeeaaa ok. it's aluminum. and it's a nicolia. If the the bike was on fire, i'd still think they knew what they were doing.
not porn, though. imo.

its a german downhill mtb frame manufacturer, i dunno if they care about the welds, but i know what you mean :D
if i got one, i'd be tempted to get it raw, and sit there with a file for hours filing the welds smooth :)what the shit?
