Explain please. Just because its pretty doesn't mean it's not functional.
There's just simply no reason to build a mountainbike with clearances that tight.
Putting some decent mud room in there would not have ruined the aesthetics of the bike, infact quite the opposite imo because as soon as i look at that bike i see tight clearances which will clog up real quick and so it looks like a bike that will not work.
Apart from the mudroom issue id also be worried about riding a rigid large wheeled bike offroad if there was that little room for the wheel to get out of true.
Give one of those wheels a bit of a knock on a fast descent and by the time you've reached the bottom of the hill you'll be halfway through a chainstay. -

Bugger, and there was me trying to be 'down with yo yoof'
This one from mtbr.com looks fun.
I thought Matt chester had stopped making frames now?
I'm guessing it's just an older one with a vicious cycles/jones fat fork on?
I always liked Matt chesters approach to fixed off road bikes. -

Ahem. East German. Basic flag recognition fail.
East (notice the communist-type thing in the middle):
West (sans reference to communism):
I was thinking Slickrock would be about the only place where the clearances would work, but you don't need (or want) Racing Ralphs at Slickrock
