It looks like that was probably an ex-keirin bike that they bought off of a retiring racer, in which case it would make sense if the rims were NJS.
Who cares though, really? It's still pretty (for a blue bike) and that's kinda the point of this thread.

Hello !
I'm a big fan of old vintage shirt for cycling, especially vintage 70's like old peugeot michelin or ti raleigh - here is a big site of old vintage shirts from Le tour de France and many international teams
+1
I'd kill for one of these...

@ mitre t
2 weeks of comments, 1 actual posting of porn (that was questionable coming from such an opinionated dude), the rest is just picking away at people on what should and shouldn't be porn, which is fair enough. If ya gonna be setting people straight then set em straight with examples of what your requirements are, just put porn up dude ;)

the modern crank doesn't look good with the old chainring and the phils are also not perfect fot this classic bike

Wow, somebody even fussier than me! If I had that Merckx, I'd change the tractor tyres to something more appropriate, but everything else would work just fine for any track league in the country.

I think the cranks and chainring actually work very well together, especially with the frame.
I would love to have that bike. Only thing I would change are the pedals and tyres.

defintely, the crank/chainring combination look pretty much perfect, it also look modern too, I've already got a lovely 49t one, just need to get the campy cranks and phils BB.
In fact, while it's a bit of a fail with some of the component, it's an outright win for a bike that's going to be used everyday on the street.

Ed, that crank/chainring combo would look lovely on your Bob Jackson.

Ah, very similar to mine, but I don't have the fancy sparkly paint (mine is just normaly metallic). I feel quite jealous.
It looks slightly larger than mine (which is a 55.5cm) so I'm guessing maybe a 57cm?
It's interesting that that one is made out of Columbus too, as you don't see it that often in Keirin frames.
