Christ, is that just to protect the chainstay from chain slap? faints
I'm think that I might put my name down in a couple of years, get one when I'm 40.
all legitimate touring bikes have spare spokes somewhere on the frame. I guess he's using his for chain slap as well. pretty clever.
Vanilla are beautiful, but i think they are kind of over the top. My heart belongs to ANT cycles.

also making such a classy looking touring bike and putting modern stuff like indexing gears with all the looks, seems a little like missing the point

vanilla: does anyone know what the rear rack is? or is it bespoke?

Using Shimano STIs is missing the point; all proper tourists have bar bags, which don't work with STI cables coming out of the sides of the levers. Then again, I hate nearly everything about that bike, but somebody has obviously spent a huge amount of time and money having it built exactly how they want it, so I'd drop it straight in the anti-porn bin.

I feel i have to agree with you there, amazing craftmanship, but would be well down the list of bikes i would actually want to tour on

50mm of spacers on a sprint bike? No thanks! Put an upside down Deda Newton Pista on it and lose all the spacers, then it would be porn.
you lot are whiny like 13 year old virgins

i think it also functions as a storage of spare spokes.
very clever, i love the attention to details that go into vanilla bikes

One mans porn is another ones anti.
Each to their own but personally I think Kleins are great. That blue one (or is it green??) top left gets my vote.

I used to like deep vees, they just look cheap nowadays.
Are they now passé, or have the always been this way and it's just my taste has improved?

All 30mm deep rims have always been a cheap way to get a little aero benefit without the expense of carbon. Now that 40mm+ in aluminium is back on the menu, the 30mm rims look even worse, being simultaneously too deep to be classic but not deep enough to be properly modern.

There's only one deep section rim for me..
don't post a photo just post a link to your bike, simple
