  • fuck tha stem

  • Sex offenders aint got shit on me, although there is shit on my stem..

  • What hubs are those on the Hobbs?

  • That stem is a little much... to what extent is one person going to adjust a stem?

Still, beautiful bike... doesn't hurt that it has the same saddle that came on my Rossin roadbike (usually resides on my fixed gear).

  • a little bit OTT, but i like it still.

    "oh no my hipster's showing"

    .

I like that. Stem looks a bit too chunky/cheap for the frame, and I'm not sure on the green tyres, but the finish on the frame looks lovely.

    Ha! Simple yet effective

  • I'm amazed that crank isn't covered in huge stickers

  • Shit the bed - you could swim in that paint...

Courtesy of Phasergunalex - this is unadulterated porn - none of your Hetchins nonsense here...

Yes yes yes, it's an amazing looking bike. Thanks for posting it in here Mooks!

so successful that he was banned from many competitions; marshal walter 'major' taylor found this style of stem very useful.

I built that bike up... The stem is a Cinelli pista, which apart from the Deda pista is the only track a-head stem on the market (I think?)

If you change the tires for black ones it will become a completely different bike!

The paint feels like rubber... so strange.

  • HOBBS

the lugs , the chrome, the chater lea and the fire,,,,,,, its like a dream

  • Cinelli seat doesn't go and the red crank/ring bolts need to be black or chrome.

The Crankset comes with those bolts as standard... and the bike is awaiting white grips (which will coming this week)

    :)

  • Hmmm, maybe. Still needs pedals tho . . .

Any ahead stem is a track ahead stem, the angle is just there to get the best fit.

Maybe good for sprint races but not much use for actually riding around...

    That sounds really interesting.

Is it actually rubbery in any way? I'm thinking of how resilient it would be to chips caused by stones, or to being leant against lampposts and fences.

Quite keen to know what the paint is. I've not heard of a rubber feel paint, and it could be pretty practical.

  • i like the bike just not the tires

  • However, would anyone be able to notice in a blind test ride? (although a blind test ride sounds a bit dangerous..)

I wanna do a blind test ride!

    Blindfolded tall bike joust anyone?

    Apologies for slightly off-topic banter

  • Not any a-head stem is a traditional track stem. fact.

But you can use whatever the hell you want. Amen

A traditional track stem is a quill stem. fact.

Just because a stem has a certain angle doesn't make it a track stem I'm afraid. Take a look at stems used on bikes for Madison, points race etc,. and you won't see many like that one because you have to ride the bike for more than 2 minutes.

A strong case of form over function on that stem which is at odds with the lack of form over function applied to the rest of the bike!

And that frame needs a quill anyway, as steel forks with ahead stems never look right. Amen.
