  • the whole album's good

  • Ultramarine EMAWIAS

if it's possible for someone's taste in music to have a polar opposite, that's mine.

Fair comment, not sure why I need to know but fair comment I guess.
My own taste consists of many, many polar opposites, stoner-electronica is just one slice of time from when I lived in Totnes back in the early 90s and made music like this.
I've posted other stuff, will continue to post other stuff, not worried if anyone does or doesn't like it, someone might, I don't feel the need to know though.

  • its more Dartington than Totnes isnt it?
    I fucken love that album,
'british summertime' through headphones whilst cycling in blissful heat alone through country lanes wearing minimal clothing-- that is dying and going to heaven imo.

Well I lived in a converted barn on a farm out towards Dartington too, had to cycle into Totnes along green lanes. Used to DJ at the college with stuff like this, and at mushroom parties on the moor.
Dread to think what Totnes is like now, should go and see.

heh, i know! fuck man, when i was 17 i hated acoustic music, folk, country and was into acid jazz and grungey metal. now i can't think of anything i'd rather listen to less than than 90s acid jazz and widdle-metal and have to prod myself to step way from the americana, country and folk. i went though the obligatory dad rock, jazz snob and stoner trip hop phase. had a belated electronica epiphany and only found out i like loads of 80s and 90s uk indie (i'd missed while being grungey and or jazzy) in the last few years.

i expect from what you just posted your hippie dance stoner phase was broadly equivalent to my brief but very heartfelt mid 90s mo' wax obsession. don't take it personally! i was only messing. who knows, i might get madly into rambly stoned american self-help monologues over 90s dance beats next week. who can say?

personally, if someone posted that what i was listening to was the antithesis of everything they held dear about music i'd be interested as to why they felt that way. i like it when people articulate their opinions, regardless of whether or not i happen to share their tastes... at the moment.

  • oh shit yeah i remember a thread about that now. dammit., wish i'd remembered last night would have come and hello.

gig was great, though paradoxically not as drunken as most other gigs i've been to there on account of all the bars being 5 people deep for the entire duration of the evening. i only had two pints in the venue and the second one took me over half an hour queuing to get.

the support were brilliant as well. don't know what they were called though... *googles.

Anyone heard much of this guy? Can't seem to find much info other than its a side project from the guy from the knife. Epic track nonetheless.
