+1, this thread has helped me in the past and i have posted quite a lot of stuff in return, but it's just inflating prices now.
no blame shoreditch, if shoreditch hadn't been invented the prices would be cheap.
fashion and knowledge inflates prices.
magazines and videos about things and trends make things popular, they become fashionable and as a consequence people with more money and some more money than sense decide that they want something and they want the best of it.
searching knowledge also inflates the price. there was a time when you could find badly spelt items on the bay, now if you look for something relatively rare it gives you the name of five other rare bicycle frames or components that you might be interested in. the world of cycling is bigger than this forum and so is the interest in cycling always has been and always will be.people have bought and sold bicycles from before we were born. i used to press 'watch item' and actually think that nobody else had seen it. i used to feel hard done by if i lost an item by one pound. now i throw my best shot in with honesty and take it from there, if i lose then i lose and i wait for the next train (for sure there will be another one). but to lose and think "i would have paid a pound more" is pointless because it might have taken twenty pounds more to un-seat the winning bidder. always remember,,,we are only borrowing this stuff. -

Is it just me or do those cranks look a lot longer than 167.5?
-

Those are the cranks I wanted, too rich for me though.

Proportional.
DA10 has smaller chainrings, cogs and chain pitch than normal track gear.
If it had a standard pitch 46T ring things would look normal.

The advantage of band on components is that when you remove the gears and the back brake there will be no redundant brazed on cable guides - it will look much cleaner, cooler and more like a track bike like this.
There's no indication of the brand or tubing in the ad but I think it would be a good one just because it's a nice looking bike and all you'll *need *to shell out for to convert it is a new rear wheel (assuming all the other bits are fine).
It's cheap at the moment although there have already been 18 bids so there's obviously a lot of interest.

hi, first post, don't hate on me.
is it going to make people rage if i ask what they think of these? i am aware it's not the world's most interesting bike, and that you all hate OTPs like herpes but the price is certainly right. i also happen to think it looks ok?
so my question is basically, will i get laughed at for riding this around? sorry, i know it's a noob question. and tbh i don't really care if i DO get laughed at - just interested. if it adds any cred i live in dalston, yeah? etc?
