take it easy guys. DB has his opinion and he's well researched. My road conversion has angles that tight. It could also easily be a path frame with the track ends replaced.

My problem isn't with Dale's knowledge. He's a smart guy.

In my opinion, if it looks like someone is selling not as described then where but on the forum would we discuss it?
Also, if i was a newbie and knew nothing about bikes i'd want someone to warn me the bike is not worth what it's being sold for. Why is this suddenly considered a crime to voice remarks about shit or badly described builds? And no need to swear at each other for that either.Doh, i promised myself not to get involved, weak again

Hmmmmm.... i'm sure I had that badge in the scouts... and whats with the wording at the bottom???
"fixie fixed gear single speed vintage rare retro old school bicycle bike cycling track badge gadget circle round fashion white class"
Ha, I had a pair of them, did my cycling proficiency test three times. Failed twice, got the badge anyway.

Is it just me or does wheel look very close to the left hand seat stay and not so close to the right hand one?
Picture of the chainstay area looks ok so must presume frame is twisted. -

May just be misaligned in the dropouts?
You obv read the 1st sentence of my post that you understand i was highlighting an issue with the alignment of the wheel within the frame and i presume you read the second half of the second sentence of my post as you seem to get that i was offering an explanation of why the wheel could be misaligned with the frame but you seem to have missed the part where i pointed out that the chainstay area looks fine, suggesting that the problem is more than just dropout adjustment.

"Did they actually run PATH-bikes on track? That one has mudguard eyelets.."Path bikes were popular from the 1930's to the early 1960's as this period being the austerity years most serious cyclists had only one bike which doubled up as a commuter/club run bike (....hence the mudguard eyes) then mainly at weekends used in competition for time trials or track use where the mudguards would then be removed and the rear wheel flipped round to give a higher gear, thats why you see a lot of vintage track ends with mudguard eyes!

I raced a 1959 Carlton Road/Path with mudguard eyelets, massive clearances (and pump pegs !) during track league this year. Was great fun.
ha!
