i thought he said it is a copy or something
-
• #828
he said it'd been drilled for brakes (and i imagine had cable guides added) professionally, so maybe it was an after build mod.. i know campag made njs parts, dunno bout frames, it looks a bit suspect to me..

hippy that sounds like this one currently on ebay. wanker!!
-
• #834
Just curious as to why the seller is a wanker? Surely he's jusst doing the same as every body else and taking advantage of the recent rise in interest over track/fixed/ss bikes. Maybe i missed something?
It's the old raleigh, fixie conversions with plastic chainsets and sprokets held on with twine that i hate.

it's the guys attitude mainly. like he's better than everyone else and his shit don't stink. i happen to be in biomed sci and come across a lot of dr's and actually teach under-grad med students, like that.
you take a good look at the bike, it has multiple chips/scratches and dents in the rim. he's advertising it like it is top shelf and won't accept a price unless it matches. wanker!

Woooh! Big up the biomed sci! Am just working on an assignment about Restriction enzymes!!!!!

hm.. is it because he said he's working as a doctor?
Other than that, it sounded like a promotional text from your standard eBay powerseller/reputable frame builder..

The only thing the guy with the Spectrum doesn't mention is that you'd need an underactive pituitary to ride it. :-P

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=180159974849&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=008cheers for this provenrad - i have put a tall mate on to the lead. makes me laugh the number of people who sell road bikes on ebay without actually putting the word 'road' or 'racing' in the title. cheers

^no worries jw - lanky blokes stick together! It is a good find for a taller person - 700c wheels and 501 tubing = better than most cheap big bikesI've strayed across!
If he doesnt plan to keep the retro bits - ask him for those brake levers + calipers please - would look wicked on my dads retro bike (can swap 4 shimano 600 calipers) Thanks, p -
• #845
yeah, i hope goes for it and wins it. if he does i'll certainly talk to him about the brakes. i think i have some spare aero levers i can send his way if he wants to tidy up the wires at the front end. will let you know for sure
