Wheels aren't included but I figured 2 hundred quid for the frame and another hundred or so for the cranks, the rest is pretty worthless. I'd have gone to 300 probably but it went up quickly to 276 so I suspect it will go higher

Once the fork was changed the spray job went ahead, yet you can still faintly see the Easton Decal as I deliberately kept it.

also cheapish mercian. I'm literally about to pull the trigger on it so PLEASE don't buy it. Asked the seller what the wheels are. Looks to have some kind of threaded to threadless converter on it.
There is a dent which looks cosmetic only - is that fork crown area okay though? Looks slightly dodgy to me, like the gap between the headset and fork increases as you move towards the caliper

Yes, on looking closely the forks do look pushed back, as in crashed.
The important thing is, has it pushed the head-tube back, causing slight creases in the top and down tubes. I see he has conveniently managed to cover those areas - suspicious !

I assume you've asked the guy. I'd not risk it as I don't think it's a great bargain.

Cheers all. Goes back to the old adage that if a deal if too good to be true, it often is. Was thinking would be worth it in parts but it's in Northumberland which is so far away. Slightly worrying that a seller can be so intrinsically disingenuous (not saying it is damaged) and have 100% positive feedback across 604 transactions.

I did once buy a crashed Mercian for like £70 that my uncle picked up, seller didn't say it was crashed and I didn't spot it in the pictures unfortunately.

Seller replied to my message and said the wheels are 700c Mavic cxp 22. He is adamant that he bought it off the original owner who was genuine. He has never crashed it and has clocked 42.9 mph on his Garmin on it. It has a rear view mirror on it. He see's my point about the angle of the forks and said they look the same as his other two bikes, and encouraged me to view it. Still not going to get it but hmmmmm

Isn't it the law of lfgss that for a given picture of a bike, at least one person will comment that it appears to have been crashed?
