  • Ok so you cought me out well done for being the smart arse as you can read, read the part where I mentioned I have an I phone and can't upload any photos and the only pics I had of the bike were the old eBay ones so I just put them up sorry I lied and broke the rule in just trying to strum up some interest in my bike so I can maybe learn more about it all I dont really want to sell it because I still need to fit the combi levers and anatomic drop bars

    Couldn't wait for Friday. Inconsiderate.

  • some vintage tat lot pick up only @ york

Reckon I'm gonna have to do this soon. I'm willing to take the loss compared to selling individually, as the stuff I have won't sell individually.

Not sure I can cope with listing 100 or so individual bits on eBay for stuff that probably won't sell.

  • ^^^ roadie2004
i checked this yesterday and it doesn't have any signs this is actually colnago, no engravings on lugs, forks or dropouts...

    Oof. 'No returns' either.

    Sketchy as fuck.

  • I think you're right, majsterjanek..... I just thought the green popped and a polish would bring it up to speed, the whole "It's my brothers bike" along with no returns,

Sketchy, Can I remove my post?? Don't wanna recommend a scam

  • Post removed........... don't want people thinking i'm the advertiser, i'm new around these parts!

  • It was an honest mistake roadie, don't worry. I've messaged him to ask him to provide details about the BB shell and any cutouts in lugs, will see if he responds.

  • dglshrn no worries changed my post to a fitting YouTube video, have e-mailed him also, I think we could be looking at a Falcon with Colnago transfers.....

so eBay Finds etiquette I am guessing is about putting up auction only (not Buy-It-Now) product others might be interested in that are not your own, and not already completed bikes/conversions (frames and bits only)?? I will admit I joined to post my own bike which is on the bay but didn't when I saw it's not kosher to be plugging one's own wears - which I respect ....... I love lamp

  • he will probably say that he doesn't know a lot about bikes and that he is not able to provide this information because he doesn't know what you mean by BB and lugs...

  • Definitely not kosher to post your own listing, anything else (complete bikes or parts) is fine I think, as long as it hasn't been posted already.

It's best to try and post 'bargains', but pure bike porn and anything interesting is also acceptable.

That's how I see it anyway.

I explained 'lugs - where the tubes meet' and Bottom bracket 'turn the bike over, where the pedals are'.

I'm not expecting a reply, to be honest.

EDIT: Replied, he says he doesn't know as the bike's at home. He seems genuine though, he's going to get screwed if it is fake though.

well... it is fake if there is no cutouts or engravings, am i right?

  • Yeah, as far as I'm concerned. Could be a low end 'nag though, do they have all the little hallmarks?
Bottom Bracket shell would be the best indicator.

couldn't find any on the whole frame - i did checked lugs, forks, under BB, dropouts, rear brake mounting, chainstay, there was only inkish print with some numbers under bottom tube, thats all.

  • crooked Christmas Gift then

  • Oh have you been to see?

  • Oh have you been to see?

sure! i've seen in flesh, how would i know otherwise? guy appeared to know nothing about the bikes...or pretends so...

Ah ha, I thought maybe you'd seen more pictures or something.
Either way, sold for £310, someone's going to be unhappy when they find out.
It's a shame you can't contact bidders on eBay anymore, feel like they should be told!
