I saw the Fondriest and really rather want it, but I seem to have accidentally (forgot to cancel automatic bidding) bought a banana bike for £43 which is located in Skegness. Annoying.
Small Fondriest poorly listed, ending soon:

^^^^Hmm, this'll be my opinion so don't take it as be all end all, there are certainly better informed people to ask.
The seller says he bought it for £1400 new, and you can see why it has a lot of nice components
-mavic krysium wheels
-campag veloce groupo
-brooks saddle
-gatorskin tyresand most importantly the frame, reynolds 631 (not heard of that tubing before?) steel, built (custom i imagine) by Bob jackson
From the limited info gained from the photos, It seems in very good nick as well, probably not had too much use.
The tricky part is calculating how much it's worth, apart from the seller saying he bought it for £1400, it really depends on how much you want it and your budget for buying a new bike.
It's a very nice bike (doesn't look as lovely as i imagine it really is due to that handlebar angle, all the practical paraphenalia like mudguards/lights, and the poor photos) and IMO it's worth a good deal more than £400.
what do others think?

I figured something in the region of £600 > £750.
Cyclists have a great capacity for underestimating the amount of depreciation a cycle can go through as a result in new bikes coming out at ever more competitive prices and with newer components.
Reasons it's not higher: It's Campag Veloce, it's not a fashionable bike.
That said, it looks in good nick, has been tastefully put together (beyond the badly fitted mudguards) and doesn't look like it's been in an accident.
Quite what marital problems have to do with selling a bike I do not know.

It's a bit fishy I think. No feedback profile, marital troubles as an excuse but 1990 as a username. It's probably alright, but I'd asking some probing questions about the build and receipts and stuff just to be sure.

Good points there^^
I wasn't too clued up on groupos but IIRC veloce is campag's lowest tier, and according to mccd-tester is comparable with shimano 105 in terms of quality?
The main clincher is that BJ frame in great condition by the looks of things
mavic cxp 22, ~£20 with <2hr to go, collected from near leicester
