Those cogs - anyone ridden an aluminium one? Seller obviously suggests there's a difference.

the weight doesnt matter since its close to the hub axle/centre of rotation, not really sure what the benefit is.

Campagnolo also made some alu cogs in the 80's, Sugino had their gigas alu cogs

I seem to remember them being advised against as they really don't last long.
Might be nice for a fancy project/show bike though.
