70 bikes = £500 a pop. Bargain.
Group buy?A few other bike forums are already discussing the same.
-

Depends if the average price of the bikes would make it worthwhile, you don't want to be the one left with the shitty end of the stick after a £500 outlay.
I think with a collection that serious, he would have catalogued it, or at least had a list of what he owned.
And if the price was really that much of a bargain, he'd have put the catalogue/list with the auction.Bleibt auf der Hut!

^No mention of the brooks either. Well dodgy

He mostly sells dodgy cars it seems, very traceable... my guess is that he's a naive seller who bought the bike for £50 down the pub for the purpose of a quick profit on eBay.
It's highly likely to be a stolen bike IMO.

If someone bought one of those, he would have to pay ebay fees in excess of 1 million...

Agreed, has been restored so could be a recent job though?

Phil Sherwood rode for the Halesowen A&CC in the eighties as a Junior and then went on to be a mechanic for the ANC team working on the bikes of Joey McLoughlin & Phil Thomas. He was well known for his wheel building and I have a pair of Mavic SSC's on Campag hubs built by him, but without the 'Wheels built by "Phil Sherwood"' sticker. He also did a number of features in Winning magazine(UK edition) on bicycle maintenance.
Thanks I didn't know any of that, and it is interesting however it was more a question of grammer

Although I don't see any way this one is slipping under the radar, regardless of the seatpost.
