don't you hate being out bidded, i need to stop taking so personally:
-
• #26541
be honest, you didnt really bid with the intention of winning the sun frame. i would guess the winner was suprised they got it so cheap.
-
• #26542
that is true, but when you're out bidded by a couple of pounds it can be frustrating.
I don't know if the winner was suprised tbh, the seller listed the item under
"bags, racks and panniers" so with 110 page views at end of auction i'm confident it
didn't get its correct exposure. -

Would have bidded on it too had I seen it. Agreed it's a steal at that price :)

if you always try to make your maximum bid reflect what you honestly think the item is worth and what you can afford, you will have no cause to beat yourself up.
ten second before the end of the auction bids with random pence figures don't work.
i maintain anybody that knew what it was would have been suprised to have got it for 53.00 pounds.the other lesson which is an old one is auctions that end on a friday night at 10.30 are a bad idea ......from a selling point of view.

why is that?

lets approach this from another angle. why do you think it makes a difference?
sorry if i missed something.

well if you bid £51.01, and the current *highest *bid is £50.00 then the £1.01 increase should make you the highest bidder.
That's why i think it would make a difference.(i understand the example given for the frame in question is unrealistic)

But even if you bid £100 and the next highest bidder had bid £50 and it ends like that, you'll win it for £51, not £100.

yeah, that's what makes it frustrating when you're out bid by such a small amount.
Nope, the group only would set you back a fair amount..
