It DOES have a frame number and I can even read it (at least I see a number and it could very well be the frame number, if it's not a zip-code, frame size, or whatsoever).

I rode one of these during my stays in Japan, but someone chopped the frame into pieces, to use the magnesium for the first prototype of an XTR rear derailleur.
