This is my 3rd post also, have been following the site for a while but felt I should join. Also I have got a couple of frames to sell (Claud and Raleigh) and would rather sell to like minded souls than do the ebay thing..
I'm selling them because I managed at last to get an 1945 Evelyn Hamilton frame which is being resprayed. She was my great aunt and there is a great clip of her here in a public info film which is very entertaining and she is on a Hetchins fixed wheel.
I haven't ridden fixed since the mid 90s but have a new sturmey 3 speed fixed hub ready to build the Hamilton in a mixed vintage. Anyone got a fixed 3 speed? Not sure if it's too heinous on this site.. ;-] -

Evening all. Have recently joined the forum so thought I'd say hello. I rode MTB trials for many years and have just got back into bikes after deciding (through boredom at Christmas) to strip down my Dads old Dawes road bike and rebuild as a SS. This was an incredibly satisfying experience and has re-lit my passion for all things bikes.
I live in North London and am planning on cycling as much as possible. I'm hoping it will save me a bit of money as well as keep me in shape! The bike I'm riding is great but was never intended for SS, I am having to use a chain tensioner for example.
I'm going to begin a project of building a new bike from scratch. Can anyone recommend a decent fixie frameset? I've had a look around and this seems alright http://www.fixedgearfrenzy.com/track-bike-parts/track_frames/eighthinch-v3-scrambler-fixie-freestyle-track-frame-4130-raw has anyone had any experience with this brand?
Also this may be a stupid question but it is possible to buy 700c wheels on which I can put a SS freewheel? I'm looking to spend around £450 on the whole build so If anyone has any tips or can recommend any decent parts or places to buy then that would be fantabulous.
Thanks!
James.

Hello James, welcome to the forum.
The any question answered thread would be a good place to ask about the frame (link) I'm afraid I don't know much about that frame but someone will.
You may also find a good deal on a frame or full bike in the classifieds part of the forum.
But most importantly enjoy the forum and come for beers and rides (bike rides not the dirty ones) with us.

Evening all.
Thought that I'd sign up here on the recommendation of a friend. Have been riding around London on a Kona Honky Tonk since early summer 2009. Am now thoroughly addicted to the whole cycling lark. Looking forward to getting involved in some of the events and rides that I've heard of.
Cheers
Ed

That's great you've got one of her frames. Was it http://sargentandco.com/node/151 this one by any chance? Even if not, how's the restoration going?
Anyway, I haven't been here long myself but welcome none the less.

Morning all.
I'm 26, a web developer living in West London. Currently I am without a bike, but have mainly ridden hardtail mountainbikes and hybrids around Cardiff; Now I'm living in London I am thinking of giving the single speed scene a look.

Hey guys, I'm new to the forums so hello! I've just started track riding after being rather blown away by a couple of taster sessions at Manchester and Herne Hill. I'm on twitter if anyone is interested. I'm loving all the bike porn ;)

Hi. Getting into the fixie groove because I'm looking for a fun, low maint beater to get around the lovely city of Oxford. I'm picking up my first fixed steed tomorrow. Hope this post goes someway towards making up for my shocking first two posts in the stolen bikes thread where I claimed I'd found a stolen bike on ebay and then quickly realised I was talking crap.

Hi All
Been stalking for a while learning as much as I can before I jump aboard. New to the country, new to the scene but not new to riding bikes. Mainly rode MTB back in Oz but about to jump on the SS/fixed gear bandwagon just as it's becoming daggy. Looking forward to learning, sharing and having the piss taken out of me.
Cheers

evening all,
from london, still riding gears, been lurking for a bit as a single speed / fixed is becoming very appealing for a commute/go anywhere bike, also for some odd unknown reason since a young age i've had a biziarre fascination with any bike with bull horns and there's lots of pics in various threads here.
Bienvenido!
Welcome! We've got a few beach cruiser owners on here. MMcarthy in particular is known for destroying roadies at the lights with his.
Willkommen!
Ok, I'd have to resort to Google to welcome you in Indonesian so I shall own up to this fact and make do with English. Welcome!
Come along to weekly beers (link on menu at the top) and say hello one day.
