I'm guessing this would be a good place to say 'hi'.
I currently ride.. dare I say it.. cough a 21 speed cough old 90s mongoose zero g xc mtb, a tatty black ruption BMX and I have an even tattier (read 'completely ceased') red custom bmx that I rescued in dire need of some serious TLC.
I am, however, after building my very own super-duper (no doubt tatty like the rest of my stable) fixed gear bike and am addicted to freecycle in the hope that I might strike gold and nab me a road frame.
So yeah.. here I am, hoping to pick brains and make new buddies :)

Welcome toxic!
In recognition of your superb forum etiquette I hereby grant you the following answers..
1) Sugino cranks are JIS except 75s, which are ISO.
2) If it doesn't seem to fit, don't force it in there! get the tube reamed and assemble using grease.
3) YouTube - Ronnie Johns - Chopper - Harden the Fuck Up

Hi All
been lurking for a while - like the banter, like the lack of moderation, like the two wheeled obsession.
I will try not to pi$$ off too many people too quickly.

Too quickly? Let's try and keeping the Pi$$ing on people to an absolute minimum, OK?

Hi All

nice looking frame, thought might be a bit hard to tighten the chain with the lack of horiziontal dropout.

you'll need either an eno hub, an eccentric BB or a magic gear. and watch out, 753 is thin, so you're likely to dent the top tube if you swing your bars around without care.

I really want to see that frame built up. It'll be a bit more work (for fixed - ss will be fine), but could be very much worth it. Look forward to it!

So I'm moving down south soon and, thanks to leaving a place known as "little switzerland", I can finally invest in a track bike. I'm working my way through the five initial posts in order to post up a wanted thread in the classifieds for a half decent 56-58cm steel frame and forks for up to £150 - preferably track geometry. Until I can actually start a thread, anyone got anything knocking about?

It's my first post so I guess it's the right time to say 'hi'. Loving the site, have been browsing the threads and enjoying the photos, some great bikes on here.
Am currently slowly working on my first ss project but it's a long way from finished, does the job at the moment though and has given me a lot of fun so far. Next project will definitely be a fixie though. Any advice on the current bike will be much appreciated.
Hope to see some of you around .....

advice?
1 - use track pump and inflate tyres to at least 80 psi.
2 - ride it hard until it breaks. -
• #448
Thanks provenrad,
Already tried to break it by hammering around on it like a tool when the spokes on the back wheel were loose, managed to buckle it slightly before I twigged what the problem was. Have now tightened it up but it still wobbles nicely, will have to get it sorted sometime soon.
Keep the tyres at about 110, they're just not photogenic ....

General advice for lurkers really: I was too cheap to buy a track pump for 6+ months and never knew what I was missing! A small pump got me to 80psish, but it was a struggle.
In my defence I was completely new to skinny tyres.. :-( -
