  • Because nuking spam is something that can be automated using a spam blacklist like Akismet and submitting the spam to that.

But when you quote it, there is either a risk that you get dumped as a spammer too, or that the spam gets skipped which then defeats the point of attempting to nuke it.

Spammers seldom post just once, and if they're posted in 2 threads I'm pinning my hopes on the automated cleanup nuking other things they've posted. Which is useless if you've quoted it.

OK, doing it all manually would of course take too long, but presumably in this case you could just edit smithchild's post?

  • post edited, sorry

I shall be patient, I shall be patient... count to ten...

yes, but then people expect me to do that next time, and the time after, and so on... so I don't.

  • Fair enough, of course.

  • It's far safer to just delete ALL posts.

    It's been fun.

    Thankyou and goodnight.

  • Morning All,

I'm new, live in london, just about to start building my track bike after selling my freeride bike I built and swapped muddy rocks and woods for asphalt and 'dont care cabbies'.. different scenery but its all the same buzz..

  • Hello, newbe here. Zieleman, after my bike

This is my late 60s/early 70s Zieleman Type Special. It has ben refinisch somewhere in the 80s and it has been refinished & rebuilt again by me recently ==>

It is very fast ....IF you only hard pedal enough. The legs got to do it.

  • Do you ride fixed/ss, as well?

  • You do not like my ti-al Super Record rear mech ?

There is a Gazelle 'baanfiets' too. Work in progress. No pics yet. Sorry.

  • Hey everybody, I'm from Germany and love to ride my bike ;)

I'm not a singlespeeder yet, but I plan on buying a pompino frame and built up a bike from scratch. It's a bit annoying to be in "the nursery"...

  • Bah

Lurker for a while, just peeping over the parapet. Currently SE London, with a purple Frankenfixie that needs me to build up the new hub sitting on my desk - I've managed to somehow rip the flange half off a DA rear.

  • Hello

I've just found this forum because I was luck enought to find an 80's Mercian and am wondering what to do with it. Need to be convinced about single speed as I live near Bath and it's very hilly

  • Welcome nicknoxx - the main thing is to ride it, regardless of it's transmission.

  • Hi, just trying to get out of the nursery!

You won't succeed unless you read the first post in the Nursery thread now.

  • Hey nicknoxx, I'm from Bath too, but down on the south coast studying most of the time. I've not done a lot of riding back home, you know any good routes? I tend to just go out on a short hill ride, up Bathwick Hill or Ralph Allen Drive and come home.
Did Bath to London last summer though, thats a nice route

  • Arducius - I'm on the west side of Bath (Just about to move to Colerne) and there are loads of quiet roads north of here, but I'm still exploring as I've been on a mountain bike till now
